I recently ordered takeout from Mrs. A Thai near 95th Street, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The food was packed well, still warm when I got to it, and filled with vibrant flavors that truly showcased Thai cuisine.
The Som Tum salad was an absolute winner crisp, refreshing shredded green papaya tossed with chili, lime, garlic, fish sauce, and a touch of palm sugar. The balance of sweet, sour, spicy, and salty flavors was spot on, making each bite incredibly satisfying.
The Tom Yum soup was another highlight. The broth was rich and aromatic, infused with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, chili, and fish sauce. The combination of tangy lime juice and the warmth of Thai chilies gave it just the right amount of heat, making it both comforting and invigorating.
I also tried the Mee Kati, which featured thin rice noodles coated in a creamy, slightly tangy coconut tamarind sauce. The dish was loaded with scallions, bean sprouts, red onion, tofu, and egg, creating a great mix of textures. While I enjoyed it, I found myself wishing it had a bit more spice and a deeper, more robust flavor to make the sauce stand out.
The only disappointment was the roti and curry. The roti lacked the flaky, buttery texture I was hoping for, and the curry itself was a bit bland, missing the rich, aromatic depth I usually expect from Thai curries.
Despite that, the takeout experience was great, and I will definitely be back for the Som Tum, Tom Yum, and Mee Kati—maybe next time, I’ll ask for an...
Read moreIm a big fan of thai food. I've been here several times. And i know that they made their effort to keep the space beautiful. And they did Add few different dishes on their menu. Here are just my personal experiences: 👍🏻 1️⃣very nice environment. 2️⃣Friendly service. 3️⃣Good looking dishes. 4️⃣ dessert are tasty.
👎🏻 1️⃣tumyum soup/ tumyum noodle soup doesn't taste authentic at all. I feel like its some sort of American-style thai food. Made only for local American who only like sweat and calm food. For me and my friends its just Not sour and spicy enough. Too sweat and no enough salt. Very pale. I guess they also didn't put enough fish sauce in it. Idk. 2️⃣curries are taste too plain and pale. Yes they do put salt/coconut milk/sugar. But thats it.thats the taste of their curries.still Salt is not enough. Literally just pale. 3️⃣no matter what kind of meat they cook. I hope they can cook it longer. Like totally cooked. Not everybody is a fan of raw meat. 4️⃣ veggies were the same thing like the meat they cooked.Needed too cook little longer.
I really wanted to like this place. But just nice looking environment and dishes are not enough. I will give it a try again. Hopefully they will make some...
