A Lebanese Culinary Tease with Nabilas
Our first experience with Nabilas, though slightly marred by an incomplete delivery, left us craving more of their Lebanese culinary mastery. The dishes we received, the lamb stew and the fattoush salad, were nothing short of spectacular, setting a new benchmark for our taste buds. The lamb stew was a revelation, richly flavored, tender, and cooked to perfection, embodying the essence of traditional Lebanese cuisine. The fattoush salad, with its fresh, crisp ingredients and zesty dressing, was a refreshing counterpart that completed the meal beautifully.Although there was a hiccup with our order—the roasted potato appetizer arrived without the potatoes—the accompanying sauce was so flavorful that it alone has us eager to give Nabilas another try. The minor disappointment of the missing items could not overshadow the quality of what we did receive. The allure of Nabilas extends beyond its food. The glimpses of its ambiance, romantic and elegant, promise a dining experience that's both atmospheric and inviting. We are keenly looking forward to visiting in person, not just to savor the complete array of their offerings, but also to soak in the vibe of their dining space.Despite the initial oversight, Nabilas has left an indelible impression on us, and we are wholeheartedly committed to returning. The taste of what we experienced, even in part, was enough to ensure that. Here's to the next visit, which, we hope, will be as mind-blowing as the flavors that have already...
Read moreIt’s ok. Some of the food is good- shout out to the fattoush salad and spinach and lamb dish. But the rest of it was, charitably, meh.
I grew up eating Lebanese and Palestinian food. DO NOT GO HERE EXPECTING THAT EXPERIENCE. You will not get it. The majority of staff are a diverse bunch of hipsters who have no idea what they are serving. I called in advance to see if they had a particular dish and was explicitly told they did and they do not.
The food reflects that hipster aesthetic. It is Lebanese food reimagined. Which is ok as a concept but don’t make me ‘taboulah’ with curly leaf parsley cut so large it’s practically a garden salad with no tomato. I can hear my Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian aunties crying.
Further the service was unfriendly, unwelcoming and clearly low key not interested in providing any and brought us the bill unprompted without asking if we wanted dessert.
We did but we also didn’t want to stay where we were clearly not welcome.
Never again.
PS. Also super tired of default tips STARTING at 20%. No. 20% is for superlative service not subpar hipster attitude . Pay your d*mm people and stop relying on us to...
Read moreThe food was spectacular and the service was great! Very kind staff (shout out to Tyler). Mike (owner) came up to us after for a quick chat and told us about the beautiful story behind the opening of his restaurant. Very excited to welcome Nabila’s to the neighborhood!
I’ve had Lebanese food before, but not quite like this. Everything from the starters to the desert was chefs kiss.
Hummus and beet mutabal are a must to start! Beef kibbeh is one of the best I’ve had in NYC. I grew up eating this at home and have been trying to find one just as good. I will definitely be back for these. Sambousik was very tasty. Who knew mint and cheese paired so perfectly? Apparently Nabila did. Sheesh Barak 😍. Never even heard of this but WOW was is DELICIOUS! Rice hashwi & chicken has all the right flavors. Gorgeous combo of flavors!
And for dessert… Knafeh ashta is a MUST (if it doesn’t run out by then). Do yourself a favor and get this! Atayef ashta was something I never thought I needed in my life until now. Wow. Just wow.
Once again, welcome to the neighborhood Mike, and all the wonderful staff...
