THIS IS THE WORST PLACE YOU COULD GO TO. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL LIARS AND WILL RIP YOU OFF. THE POSITIVE REVIEWS YOU SEE HERE ARE NOT REAL. I went there to get a chemical peel to get rid of acne scarring and instead of what I asked, without telling me they performed a weak 20% glycolic peel, the woman performing the peel said it will take off 5 layers of skin(what?!) burned one half of my face more than the other, she finished the procedure by putting cream on my face- she rubbed it on my "dirty" shoulders first and then on my face! who does that?? half of my face peeled a little for 2 days and the results were ZERO. They talked me into purchasing a 3 peels pack which cost $300. Each worker was telling me different lies and what one worker said never matched what the other said. I told them that I needed a stronger peel since the first one didn't improve my scars at all, they said "ok, no problem, don't worry, it takes time" telling me ridiculous lies like "we need your skin to get used to the peels, so you need to get 3-5 peels" , "some people don't peel much after the procedure, sometimes you peel more in one area of the face"(that is garbage. I was peeling very unevenly because they didn't spread the peel evenly on my face) --- They basically lied about anything I asked them regarding the peels and throughout the whole time tried to convince me to pay $400 more for a laser treatment that they probably don't know how to perform. I asked for a stronger peel - and the second peel I got was even WEAKER than the first one, and again, ZERO results. Yes, my skin got a little smoother and my pores got smaller, but if those were the results I wanted I would have got a simple facial! Finally I complained to the manager who tried to calm me down with the same pathetic lies. I told her I wanted a CHEMICAL peel, the one they told me(at first) a doctor is performing, then they told me that he only needs to be present in the room, then the manager said that he doesn't even needs to be present and that she will perform the CHEMICAL PEEL herself on me. I asked "is it the strongest peel??" she said "yes yes! don't worry, you will peel for a week it's the strongest peel" etc' etc'. I came today for that peel. and she did EXACTLY the same bullshit the other two employees did. UNEVENLY spread, a little area under my eye and my left cheek are a bit red and AGAIN --- ZERO results. It was NOT the chemical peel i asked for! this time I was furious I felt like a complete idiot being tricked like that for the third time in a row (by the way did I mention that she said it's going to take off 2 layers of my skin?? what?! 2?! the FIRST one I had was "supposed" to take off 5 - ABSURD!) I simply understood that it's pointless to speak to anyone in that godless place and ran out of there with tears in my eyes. minus -$300 in my pocket for nothing. Did I mention that I am a student that can barely afford to pay my tuition and rent? and they knew it from the beginning! heartless horrible people. DON'T GO THERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR THE TREATMENT...

Last month I went to Art of Natural Beauty Center and consulted for and had the CoolSculpting procedure. I met with Dr. El-Salawy and Julia who were quite nice and informative about the procedure. Julia especially seemed very compassionate and caring. I had my procedure over the same weekend, and by the 4th day I was experiencing increasing and intense nerve pain (pins/needles/burning). That Thursday evening, I called the office to speak with Dr. El-Salway regarding pain medication. I told the person that answered the phone that I was very uncomfortable and needed medication for the particular pain I was experiencing. In a non-caring tone I was told that the doctor was out of the office and would not be back until the 30th of the month. She then went on to say that no one in the office is a doctor so I would not be able to get a prescription. The time to follow I have been really uncomfortable. I've had to use cold compresses, which provided minimal and short-term comfort. I followed up with an email on the 29th to the center regarding my experience and that I was cancelling my future appointment, and did not receive a reply. On the 31st I went to the center to speak with the doctor. I was told he was with a patient, and that there was no guarantee that he would call me back that evening because he was preparing for a party. Still feeling uncomfortable, the last thing I would want to hear is that the doctor would not call me back that evening because he was preparing for a party. It turns out he did not call me back that evening, but the next day (Friday) where I missed his call. I called him back the following day at the center and was told he stepped out, but would be given my message to call me back. To date, I have not heard back from him. I spent a small fortune to have this procedure and I am extremely upset and disappointed with the aftercare with regards to pain management and the lack of compassion. On both days, directly after the procedure, everyone I came in contact with wanted to be sure that I was OK. I even received a follow-up call a day or two later to make sure I was OK. Very Disappointed , Don't get me wrong the facility is clean and the reception area is very nice. I went for a facial back in February and it was good. The lady was sweet but as she is working on you all she wanted to do is talk. That's fine but I wanted my glycolic peel, she wanted to sell me a package and kept recommending other types of facials. I get it that's how we stay in business. I thanked her at the end and said I would think about it. I have been looking to get Botox and I am reluctant to where I can go. I want a place that has been around and that is one thing that this facility. We always see Groupons but will not purchase just any groupon if I do not know the facility. I never thought I would buy one for Botox but when I saw the name of the business I thought what can go wrong. WELL I called scheduled the appointment and the CATCH is you can't use a groupon at this facility if you have been there within 6 months BUT WAIT the fine print on Groupon is 12 months. I spoke with the girl and asked her I was here In February for a Facial what does that have to do with this product. Your rules are 6 months and theirs is 12 but for a different service. She didn't want to hear it. I asked if there was anyone else i can speak with I just got a dumb stare. I asked if there was anything she can do to accommodate me she said no those are the rules. NOT A GOOD business practice. When you live in Carroll Gardens you try to keep your business in the neighborhood with the mom and pop shops. The feel here is a chain store.
