We drove 2hrs 20 minutes from Dutchess County to dine here. I have been craving a steamed Lobster for quite a while and haven't found Lobster at any nearby Restaurant that wasn't a frozen dried up tail. When I order a Lobster I want the whole thing. Occasionally you'll find a Lobster special one day of the week usually Friday and does not always coincide with my availability. I watch WPIX morning news and they hosted Chef Dimitrios and I decided this is where I was going to go to satisfy my craving for a real "fresh" Lobster Boiled NOT BROILED. I was not disappointed. A side note if you haven't watched WPIX morning weather check out Byron Miranda for what is probably the most accurate forecast in the entire Northeast, and learn something along the way! Back to the Lobster but first my appetizer was the generous Bowl of Mussels Marinara with Chef Dimitris special sauce. Honestly I could eat these ALL DAY. What a treat. The picture I posted was only about 1/4 of what they served the others wound up on my Wife's plate. Not only did Nick's have fresh Lobster you could order the size Lobster you wanted so yours truly decided to go with 1 3/4 Lb and my Bride decided on a 1 1/4 lb. We were greeted promptly at the door and seated within a few minutes with a view of the water and a waiter Ricardo was over to get us started within a minute or two. Ricardo is the kind of waiter everyone should be lucky enough to get, attentive ,friendly and really seems to know what a guest needs. Everything was timed just perfectly. I rarely ever give such positive reviews but I would really have to dig deep to find anything negative to say about this place. If only a place like this existed closer to home. Thanks to all at Nicks for providing a...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant to celebrate Mother’s Day with three moms in our group. While we had a reservation, we still had to wait 15 minutes for our table. Our host politely asked the hostess if our request for a window table had been noted. Before she could respond, a man abruptly cut in, stating that window tables weren’t guaranteed. While we understood and acknowledged this, his tone was unnecessarily rude and off-putting. At first, we assumed he was a manager given how he spoke, but we later found out he was our server—Ricardo.
Unfortunately, Ricardo's attitude set the tone for the rest of our experience. Every interaction with him felt rushed and unpleasant. He was short, dismissive, and frankly, unprofessional. Each person at our table noticed his hostility. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I understand the pressures of the job—especially on a busy holiday—but if someone is in such a bad mood, perhaps it’s better to step away than to take it out on guests.
After our appetizers, no one came by to clear the dishes. When the main course was brought out, the runner had to pause and clean the table themselves. It felt disorganized and inattentive.
The food itself was good, but certainly not exceptional enough to justify the high prices—especially paired with poor service. What made it worse was the mandatory 18% gratuity for poor service. While other staff members were courteous and professional, Ricardo’s behavior left a sour impression. On any other occasion, we would’ve left after the initial encounter, but being Mother’s Day, finding another table for a large group wasn’t realistic.
If you’re considering this restaurant, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. The food doesn’t make up for the lack of...
Read moreAfter seeing this place over and over again on the Instagram feed it looked so great we just had to drive to Brooklyn from Long Island.. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT 😞!!! Where do I begin??? We weren't thrilled with the drive in to Bk to begin with as we hit horrible traffic so our morale was a bit low.. We finally arrived and as we pulled in to park we noticed the sun was setting on the completely opposite side of the highway. So no sunset dining here ever... Ok... no problem... We're starving so lets get inside! We were guided into a small (the far left side) dining area... Not attractive but a decent window on the water atleast. We sat down and literally waited 15 Minutes and NO ONE came to the table. No hello, no water, not acknowledged at all.. NOTHING. Finally grabbed someone practically begging for attention... and got menus and some water!! We ordered a pitcher of Sangria which is literally $59. and was not really good at all. The Lobster bisque was SO SO and BARELY any pieces of Lobster 🦞 in it! Booooo. The bread was stale.. by the way... so dipping it in the soup made it edible. I had the surf and turf... for $75.. Probably the WORST, driest, most tasteless Lobster I've ever eaten. The turf part was a thin piece of meat with tons of fat and gristle. The small piece of corn on the cob was stringy and plain. Yuk. The potatoes were average and boring. The carrot cake for dessert was ok and the rice Pudding was decent. Needless to say we will NEVER be back here EVER AGAIN. When someone came in and requested to sit outside they were told there is a MAJOR mosquito issue.. like really bad... EW! I hate to give a bad review BUT.. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! This place BOMBED...
