NY GRILL AND DELI — Restaurant in New York

Love this place. Perfect, classic bodega + deli, the only of its kind in the neighborhood, but that's because it would pummel all the competition. I just got to college, but my whole family loves this place. I always get a chopped cheese with everything + jalapeño and chipotle mayo, and my mom always orders the spicy quesadilla (not sure exactly what is in it but she's obsessed). My brother and dad sift through things.

The store section is reliable. Great selection of chocolate and other snacks and great beverages (i.e. Arizona, Joe's Lemonade, watermelon juice, etc.).

The guys are great. The Mexican guys who work the deli section are always super friendly, and were especially nice when they found I knew Spanish (but not just because of that, my mom speaks no Spanish and still has a great experience.) The guys at the register are also great and friendly, and when I got back from college made sure to ask me how I've been.

This is a great place to go. Open 24 hours also. Working a late-night shift? Perfect place to soothe your hunger. In the area with some late-night munchies? Come here. Live here and need a local deli? This is the perfect spot. It's great during the day too, though I can't speak as much to that because my experience with it has more been at night. I will say that even my friends from other neighborhoods make sure to hit NY grill and Deli when they're in Turtle...

Just called the owner to complain about the lady (wearing the scarf) working the register, ....I was informed (by the lady in the scarf) that he will be out until the end of Ramadan. Cool. I will voice my complaint here. What is so shocking about NY Grill, is how great the food is....how clean it is...how lovely all the people are... EXCEPT for the woman working the register...the one person you are forced to interact with. I went in today for a coffee..this woman does not look at you....she does not talk to you...she puts off the vibe as if to say: "I hate my job and I hate you." When I asked for a napkin you could tell she became really annoyed...When I said thank-you....nothing. She literally does not look at you. Not only does she not have ANY customer Service skills...she has NO Human skills either. Its shocking how rude she is and the stark difference between her and the rest of the people who work there. I can only surmise she is a RELATIVE of the owner...that is the only excuse as to why she has a job there. When I got to work...I was telling someone this story...and they described this woman to a Tee. They informed me that when they walk by the NY Grill..if they see her through the window.. they don't stop in. Wow. Anyway...life is short....no need to put myself through this again...I'll find another place....

I order delivery almost every night for dinner and even though I almost always call when it’s busy (I swear I try not to) the guy who always answers the phone and takes my order is always really patient with me, you just have to be understanding with him that he’s working the phones and register so you might have to be put on a brief hold during the ordering if it’s slammed at the cash register. I’m personally impressed with his multi tasking skills, he handles pressure well. The lady in the mornings and day time is always so nice to me too, I don’t know why people claim she’s rude . She’s never been nothing but sweet to me. I’m obsessed with the sandwiches and the salads. The cracked pepper turkey on a roll is to my go to. The food is always so fresh and taste so good! Sometimes delivery may take an hour but like I said they are extremely busy and sometimes patience is needed with them. Be kind to customer service workers especially during this pandemic. Cut them some slack some of these reviews I’m reading are so petty . I...
