Peter's Hot Bagels — Restaurant in New York

Read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. Pros: friendly service; quick delivery of order and good egg and bacon sandwich. Cons: Just one but it is a major one. Took a sesame seed bagel to toast at home the next day. When I cut it open it proved my suspicion that these are not bagels at all. It is just bread in the shape of a bagel seasoned with the same flavorings (sesame, everything, etc). If you advertise as a BAGEL shop then by golly you should be serving honest to goodness real bagels! A real bagel is dense and chewy achieved by boiling them first. I love this place. Peter the Korean owner puts his passion in everything he does. Most weekends I enjoy a BEC on a roll, bagels and cheese or chocolate croissants. They always get my order right with an occasional pancakes or French Toast. The owners are pleasant and friendly and does his best to light up my morning with a witty joke or comment. I only continue to buy here because it’s close to my apartment. Bagels are soft and chewy which I like. However they are so cheap with the toppings. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese and it has literally 2 slice of the thinnest bacon. Might as well go to Dunkin’ Donuts for a breakfast sandwich. Same vibe if you order a BLT.
