It deserves 2 and a half stars, but I can't give that so I'll be generous and give 3. First of all, tickets aren't really complimentary, a service fee is charged. Then when we got to the place there was a minimum of 2 drinks per person and the drinks were pricey. Between my boyfriend and I, we had the 4 drinks and a sour patch candy. Somehow the bill came out to over $72 which was insane. I believe they charged us for something else that we didn't actually order but my boyfriend and I were too tired to really investigate at the time. On top of that, we wanted popcorn and it was sold out. The service was terrible; very slow, and of course me and my boyfriend, the only pure black couple there were served last. The establishment was also very sneaky and shady because not only do they already include gratuity in the bill, but after you pay, they ask for an additional tip to trick and take advantage of you. Now as for the performances, the host was pretty good, I forgot his name. I've seen better but he was alright. I think he tried too hard at times. Christian Finnegan was really funny, but the lady who performed was terrible. I think her name was Janeane. It's like she knew she sucked. She looked a mess, and quite frankly, seemed a little drunk or high. She would force her jokes and they were awkward and made no sense and she was very old and should find another career before it's too late. I wanted to boo her ass off the stage, but I didn't out of respect. The funniest guy was a bald Puerto Rican guy, Sergio. He was hilarious; he has spunk. Without him the show would've sucked. Furthermore, the decor should be nicer and they need to extend their menu. The new place that opened up, The Stand, is way nicer and has...
Read moreThis place is a absolute Joke and not referring to their comedy. First of all their comedy sucks. Absolutely not funny at all not worth even a $5 entry fee if it was. 2nd there is two drink minimum per person which the cheapest drink is a $6 fountain drink. Plus they force the tip on you. We arrived roughly 1 hour late due to really bad construction. Upon arrival they never told us price of drinks and when orders 2 comes which we had to get at bar and bring in our selfs. After being inside for about 15 min the show just completly sucked and wasn't funny. They brought our check out for 2 drink which showed a total of 4 drinks with 18% tip on there for a total of $32. We told them we never had the other two drinks and plus why is there a tip on there when we went to get our own drinks. They said we are responsible for the bill and wouldn't let us leave until we paid for the full amount even tho we didn't have the other two. I told them I wouldn't be paying for 4 drinks ill pay for 2 the ones we actually had not their min with us being there for only 15 min. They called security and held us hostage until we fully paid for the full bill. The staff was completly rude. There are plenty of other comedy shows out there that are free and actually are funny with out all the B.S stay away this place...
Read moreFALSE ADVERTISING I was very excited to see Janeane Garofalo would be appearing last night 2/13. Bought my ticket on line. Got there early as advised for good seating. And then -- one comic after another (10 or so?) kept coming to the stage -- ushered on with tremendous enthusiasm by the host. And then -- "THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR COMING! SEE YOU NEXT TIME". No Janeane. No mention of Janeane.
Well, they won't see me next time. But they are not dumb: they do say in small print on the site that sometimes there is a change in the lineup. But the Headliner not being there? The Main Act not being there? The person whose picture is featured on the site and on the confirmation email they send after you buy the ticket?
If they had only been honest on their site about the lineup from the beginning I might have gone anyway. But they way they did it I feel deliberately deceived. And I will never trust anything they claim again.
Who knows who they'll advertise next time? Jerry Seinfeld? If you believe that, then there's a nice bridge near the club you may be interested in buying. I guess some places will do anything to sell tickets and...
