Lotus Leaf and I came here for a catch-up brunch before the holidays. Upon entry, the restaurant was beautifully decorated but, empty. Other than the one waitress and the chef in the back. They had Christmas music playing and the game on the few big screen TVs. Unfortunately, the restaurant was a bit on the colder side. I don't think they had the heat on and the area towards the bathroom was freezing. We ordered a Mexican hot chocolate ($3.50) to warm up. The hot chocolate was warm and tasty. I was able to taste a hint of cinnamon. I love the cute mugs the hot chocolate came in. I ordered the chilaquiles de la casa ($14) and Lotus ordered the Sunny Side Up eggs ($14). The dishes came out hot and beautifully presented with a big portion of food. However, my entree was disappointing and quite flavorless. The chips were drenched in tasteless sauce and quite soggy. The sunny side eggs were delicious and the mole sauce was superb. The mole sauce was more chocolate-ly than other mole sauces I have tasted. I would definitely get this entree again if I am in the area. The brunch prices seem fair but, the dinner menu the prices were a bit more expensive. The service was okay. The waitress was friendly but, kinda went on with her life and didn't really check in. Only when she was checking if we wanted to order more food. I noticed that they only offered virgin drinks and I don't think they have their liquor license yet but, they allowed you to bring your own.

Nice place. We ordered simple things. Chicken tacos & buffalo wings as an appetizer. The Buffalo wings tasted like a bag of frozen wings already pre-seasoned from Bjs. The tacos arrived with no cheese, tomato’s, no sour cream. Just dry meat on a tortilla and mountain of onions after requesting all that typically goes on a taco. It was much better. It was just odd that the decor and all was a complete replica of A what a Mexican place would look like and the taco was served with none of the common toppings. However, The ambience is very nice!

The chile en nogada is good even if it isn't completely authentic, however expensive. For the price I will try again in Mexico. The Zason salad had 0 pieces of jicama, 0 golden beet and was full one unlisted ingredient--raw tomatoes (which I despise)! The dressing given was incorrect for my order too, despite being very tasty (citrus chile-arbol). I would ask for a refund of the salad if I could. If salad were done properly the establishment would deserve 4-4.5 stars from me.

The hubby and I went for a late lunch and I can honestly say 5 stars isn't enough stars for El Zason. We had passion fruit margaritas and a strawberry mojito. Both were fantastic but the margarita was definitely our favorite, highly recommend!!! We shared a chorizo fundido and it was out of this world amazing! Finally, we had steak and chicken fajitas. I'm a steak gal and my husband is a chicken guy. I tried a bite of his and it was so flavorful!! Even the rice, regular white rice, was prepared so well! My steak was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious! Our waiter was super sweet and attentive. If you are in the area, want amazing food and drinks, El Zason will absolutely tick all the boxes!!

I would have included pictures but we legit inhaled all...
