I rarely write bad reviews and hate to do it, but we had such a disastrous experience that I feel I have no choice. Also, Let me preface this by saying it has taken me forever to write this review, so hopefully things have changed since our experience... OK so we went out for a date night, we were hoping for a nice and relaxing night. Well it absolutely did not turn out that way. First of all we asked to some of the staff if we can sat outside and he said that they had a reservation, which was ok because we did not have reservation. We ate and we left and no one was on the table. After that Marta or something like that approached us to take us the order (i think she was our server, at this point I don't know who was) that was the first time that we saw her in our table and the second was when she gave us the bill, these was only two times that we saw her., we saw her the whole moment showing photos of her new baby but never doing her job. Anyway , We ordered an amazing salad and pasta, the food was more than good. Also we ordered a rose wine which tasted old and a perroni. Then, the food came on time but when we wanted to order more drinks there was no one to order, so ok it happens. but then we tried to order a dessert we really love tiramisu but again there were no one to take the order, until the buss boy came, he was the person who said to some one of the server staff that we wanted a dessert. Then the tiramisu came and was totally beautiful although we waited for spoons around 15minutes and we just got the spoons because we remind to the person who gave us the dessert that we need it. While we were eating our dessert we cleaned the rest of the utensils and we put it on the table next to us, then three persons came in so the same server that gave us the tiramisu and forgot the spoons for 15 min, he gave those people the table next to us but some that was very rude from his part was telling us if we can clean our dirty utensils, he even did't ask if we need it or something coordial, he just said "these are your things? can you move it please?" so i was very very disappointed. I am going to be very clear about why we are very disappointed , While we were eating there were two more persons who we don't know if were servers or something but they just forgot our table, they weren't busy because was around 3:30pm on Sunday, there was just 4 tables and 4 people of the staff, they were just hanging and showing baby pictures, when we asked for utensils, water, drinks and dessert they were very very rude, with attitude and unprofessional.Completely unacceptable. At the end we just gave tip to the busboy who was the only person that was nice and professional. Honestly seems like this place needs someone that knows customer service and how to run a restaurant. We been here before a couple of times because we live in Park slope, definitely we are not coming back, we thought order delivery because we love the food but we don't know yet. Park slope has a very good italian places piccoli used to be one of them, but unfortunately it...
Read moreHubby and I came here for dinner while we were in the neighborhood. I called up to ask about a table and spoke with Gabriel. He said to walk in and will see what he can do. He said that sometimes we may need to wait for a few minutes.
We had a table quite close to another table, but that’s fine because the food smells so good! Our waitress named Taylor. She could be Taylor Swift’s sister or cousin. With that red lipstick, what could go wrong? Very pretty red! We had a nice arugula salad with a fantastic taste of half corn on a cob and sweet peppers on top with grated parmesan cheese. This salad was incredible! Get it! Pay it! Worth it! Then I ordered black linguini with crab meat. Another excellent flavor sauce is the crab meat mixed with Al Dante linguini. Now that’s how you prepare the best pasta! Just like the Italian cafe in our neighborhood too. Hubby ordered striped bass served with capers and spinach. I highly recommend all three dishes. We didn’t end our “food trip” with dessert because we were filled up. Believe it or not, there were no leftovers yay! That’s the way we do it: money for nothing, and the food’s not free!
We had the best meals with excellent service from a look-alike Taylor Swift waitress. The whole team worked hard. A lot of actions here, super fast, efficient, ready to go and leave. You can stay longer, no problem, they won’t chase you out. Gabriel was so busy handling tables and was excellent at placing guests to their tables. He took care of the patrons very well! Thanks for the lovely dining experience!...
Read moreThis review is only for certain audience. Food experts. The rest won’t get it, or I hope some will at least some. There is a difference between dinning experience and going out to eat! This place is “ Wannabe Italian” it’s not Italiano folks. Ask people who have visited Italy, who have lived in Italy, who respect Italian flavors and taste and who have eaten from the hands of REAL Nonna’s. They will tell you straight up or ask me! As I was reading reviews the way the owners respond to reviews caught my attention. I’m like that’s now how Italians speak, then one quick research and boom I was right. Owners are not Italians. The only thing I saw Italian there was the name of the place and Danesi espresso machine, their espresso beans and cups. I was in the neighborhood yesterday with my girlfriend and the place was closest to us so we sat down to grab something quick. We ordered Polenta, Buffalo Mozzarella, Seafood Risotto, Duck Breast and a Macchiato btw.
Polenta itself had no flavor. When that happens you trying to cover the tracks with creamy mushroom sauce.
Buffalo Mozzarella placed over hot squash and mushrooms! Really! Only if Mozzarella could talk!
Seafood Risotto, tiniest shrimps and calamari rings I have seen in a risotto dish for the price!
…. and the duck, how can you treat duck like piece of stake ? There was no proper crispiness and sauce for the duck. Who ever have tried duck in French Cuisine knows what I’m talking about.
Macchiato was good tho!
My first and last...
