Pinkerton Wine Bar had a strange subconscious calling for me when I visited last Saturday, as I realized I had been there a few years back, despite usually being very aware of places I have previously visited.
The vibe is great. It is woodsy, and I loved the small details, such as the ship on what appeared to be a wine closet. The atmosphere is dark and intimate, but because it is quite popular, it is not the most quiet place. However, I had no trouble talking with my friend or the bartenders.
One thing is very consistent about Pinkerton Wine Bar: the bartenders are amazing. They were amazing last time I visited, and they were amazing this time. I wish I had gotten their names, but it was my third drinking place of the night.
I do not know if I can even accurately describe what each wine tasted like because I was happily buzzed, but I remember that they all tasted great. We each got two glasses of white wine, and then decided to split a glass, but the bartender actually gave us nearly a full cup's worth each. I really wish I had gotten her name; she was a VIP.
The olives were just olives, nothing special about them.
The bathroom was not dirty, but it also seemed like it was being used for storage.
I had unintentionally returned to Pinkerton Wine Bar, and I will be returning again if I am in the area, specifically because of the amazing bartenders and the...
Read moreI never, EVER leave reviews for businesses but I had to for Pinkerton. My now-husband and I had our small wedding party here yesterday and we could not have had a better experience. The staff, bartender, and managers were extremely kind and generous in our planning process and went the extra mile to accommodate us in any way. They gave us the opportunity to make our own wedding playlist, put up decorations, and bring cakes/food if we wanted. On the day of the staff were extremely professional, kind, and made sure we were doing okay at every turn. On top of their extreme generosity, the food was delicious and everything came out in a timely manner. All of our closest friends had a fantastic time and everything was extremely organized from the beginning to the very end of the night. I cannot further express my gratitude for everyone involved in making our special day even more unique. I will HIGHLY recommend this bar to anyone looking to stop in for a good time or those special moments that make life truly worth living. Thank you again, Pinkerton staff for making our wedding evening truly...
Read moreI can’t even tell you how many times I’ve walked past Pinkerton and thought ‘I should go there soon.’ How can you not check out a bar named after a Weezer album?
After coming back from Spain all I’ve wanted lately was wine and Pinkerton was the perfect place to give me my fix. I went on a Saturday night around 9pm and the bar was about half full - every seat was filled by the time we left a few hours later - but it never got obnoxiously crowded.
There was a nice selection of wines and beers, and they also had cheese and olives which I still need to try. I was also very impressed with the waitstaff who knew exactly when to come over and check in on us - not pushy to get us out and not unattentive - something that I find to be rare in New York.
Overall, I would highly recommend Pinkerton as a great place to go have a glass of wine with a friend. It’s a bar you can actually speak and hear each other at too (rarity in Williamsburg!) So do yourself a favor and make it over there for a nice...
