Visited this place for the first time a few days ago.
Location wasn’t the greatest and was super packed waiting almost 25 minutes for 9 tacos, 1 tostada & 2 dipping consume sauces. Despite all that, I was super excited to try these “famous” tacos.
Upon placing my order and paying for my items, the cashier girl told me it would be $41. I told her I would be paying through Apple Pay and she immediately added on $6.00 through her POS system which was clover & not square. I thought $6.00 was a bit high for tax and any surcharges but I understand that they are a small business and didn’t think much of it afterwards. Well today, I check my account and that original $41.00 that turned into $47.00 at checkout was actually $52.50. Who knows what crazy tax or surcharges they added on ON top of the $6.00 the cashier originally charged me at checkout. You guys, $52.50 for 9 tacos, 1 tiny tostada and 2 dipping sauces purchased from a food truck????? My mind is literally blown. I can’t help but feel like this place is stealing money from people thinking they won’t notice.
On top of that, the dipping consume sauce that they sell along with the tacos leaked all throughout my bag because the paper container they use for it dissolved and was super cheap on quality.
Oh and let me add that this truck location is smack in the middle of Williamsburg closer to the south side where the smell of weed was everywhereeeee! I honestly believe that the reason they can add on all of these hidden “fees” and up charge the way they do is because they genuinely believe that their customers are high or drunk given that’s all you see on the corner where they are parked.
Although the tacos weren’t bad, they definitely were not the greatest, totally not my favorite and were loaded with onions... For the taste, price, ridiculous hidden charges and cheap quality packaged goods as well as crazy surcharges, I’ll never be going back.
Really not...
Read moreBirria-Landia is a street-food truck serving birria tacos, that are stewed-meat tacos. Birria-Landia is open in the evening. You can see the lighted sign from quite far away. You place the order on a kiosk system. I ordered 4 tacos and consome, a meat based soup, where you can dip your tacos. We didn't have to wait too long, maybe 5 to 10 minutes. We received our bag, and took a seat on a bench in the close-by park, where we felt safe. There we unwrapped our meal. The tacos were neatly placed in an aluminum box, the soup in a paper-based container. We received salsa and pickled onions as well. Each taco consisted of two small soft-shells, the birria meat, some salad, salsa and cilantro. The tacos are juicy, have a concentrated taste of the meat sauce, and you also taste the salsa and the cilantro. The soup has a meat-centric taste as well, but also contains onions and green onions. If you dip the taco in the sauce, it gets even juicier and acquires an even more complex taste. We loved our tacos 🌮, and will co.e back the next time we are...
