Atelier Eva (@atelier.Eva) is hands down the best tattoo shop I've visited, researched, or even seen online. It might even be the most beautiful 'office' space I've seen in New York.
The whole staff are amazing and lovely - I worked with Jason (@jjjaylud) as I've been tattooed by him before, and enjoyed meeting & chatting with Alex on the front desk. Got to meet more of the team later in the afternoon and everyone was very sweet.
I reached out to Jason and the shop in October, and they were very flexible to accommodate me in December when I could find time to visit. Jason and I discussed small design tweaks during the week before and nailed the final design/size/placement on the day.
The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable; I had a piece that took 5 hours and the time flew by. Everyone was wearing masks, artists worked distanced from each other, I had my temperature taken when coming in - overall I felt very safe with the shops policies and precautions.
This place is only going to grow more buzz and attention, and with the quality of the artwork and professionalism, they deserve all of it. Who doesn't love a shop where you WANT to be friends with everyone there?
Highly recommended for every possible reason you can imagine when looking for an excellent quality tattoo. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
Photos are of the shop space I got tattooed in, my piece once it was done and again one day after the appointment with the bandage on (they do amazing...
Read moreI have eight tattoos and I've gone to several different studios for them both in NYC and LA. Atelier Eva is by far my favorite. I got my first tattoo there about a year and a half ago. It was a Hebrew calligraphy tattoo designed by Gabriel Wolff, and then inked by JZ at Atelier Eva. Of all of my tattoos, this one was the one that healed the best, aged the best, and looked the best on my skin. It's that unexplainable thing where somehow the tattoo ink was placed at the perfect depth and the art almost looks as if it's painted directly on top of your skin with the finest brush. And that tattoo has not budged. Then I just went back to Atelier Eva for a second tattoo, this one done by Eva, who I also chose because of the way her work heals and how it looks on the skin. It was a two session tattoo, and also my first color one. It turned out absolutely gorgeous. I've now had multiple people who have seen it in passing, stop me and ask me where I got it because they think it's so beautiful. And it really is. I couldn't be happier with the work. And then finally, both locations of the studio itself, the one on Grand and the one on Havemeyer, are both gorgeous. The staff is super welcoming and communicative. There's no sense of ego or attitude that you sometimes get at the high end tattoo studios. Atelier Eva is definitely now my go to studio in NYC and I'm already planning the next one that I want to get done there. I can't recommend them...
Read moreI recently got my third tattoo at Atelier Eva (and I’m already planning my next one). Every tattoo experience I’ve had with Eva has been amazing. She is an incredibly talented artist, as are all the artists at her shop. She has always worked very closely with me to get the designs of my tattoos just right, so that they look exactly how I want them to. The level of detail in her work, and the overall quality of her designs, is stunning. Now I’m just waiting for her to turn her designs into prints so I can put them on my body AND hang them on my walls.
The shop itself is very clean and feels much more like a spa or resort than it does a tattoo shop. The atmosphere is relaxed and calm, and the artists are all very friendly and inviting. You can tell as soon as you walk in that a lot of time and effort was put into every aspect of the shop’s design, from the art and lighting to the plants and back patio layout.
One other thing I’ve always appreciated is the flexibility you’re given if you need to reschedule your appointment. You can reschedule up to three days before your appointment (without penalty), which I have had to do on a couple of occasions.
Bottom line – I love this studio and cannot recommend it highly enough. If I could give it more than five...
