Review: Best Pizza, Brooklyn
Nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Best Pizza truly lives up to its name. From the moment you step inside, the casual, laid-back atmosphere invites you to relax and savor the experience. The rustic decor, with its wooden tables and quirky wall art, adds to the charm.
The pizza itself is nothing short of spectacular. Their classic Margherita is a perfect balance of tangy tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fresh basil atop a thin, crispy crust. The dough is perfectly fermented, giving it that ideal chewy texture with a slight crisp on the edges.
One standout is their white pizza, which is a heavenly mix of ricotta, mozzarella, caramelized onions, and sesame seeds. The flavors meld together beautifully, creating a rich, savory bite every time. If you’re feeling adventurous, the unique toppings like kale and meatballs are worth trying and surprisingly delightful.
Beyond pizza, their menu offers a variety of sides and salads that complement the main attraction well. The garlic knots are a must-try—soft, buttery, and packed with flavor.
Service is friendly and efficient, making you feel right at home whether you’re dining in or grabbing a slice to go. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience.

Read moreStepping into Best Pizza for the first time, you're immediately struck by the bustling, authentic Brooklyn vibe that promises an indulgent pie experience. And the promise is fulfilled; the white pie and the cheese pie, famed among the regulars for their exceptionally thin crust and rich flavor, are the stars of the show. We decided to follow the crowd's wisdom and opt for the cheese pie on our maiden voyage to this heralded spot.
The first bite was a revelation - the crust crackled with the perfect level of crispness, supporting a flavorful blend of cheeses that melted harmoniously in the mouth. It's the kind of pie that commands your attention, not just for the taste but for the sheer craftsmanship.
Adding to the charm of Best Pizza is the ease of transaction – they're living in the present, accepting both cash and cards, which is a welcome nod to convenience. And for those looking to pair their slice with a drink, the selection, albeit limited, is well-curated, featuring a handful of beers and wines that are the perfect accompaniments to the pies on offer.

Read moreFrank gets it. This is a real treat of a slice, blending some of the best elements of NYC slice magic with Neapolitan roots.
I’m a pizza nerd, a pretty harsh critic, and I make my own pizza at home—NYC style in the colder months, Neapolitan in the warmer months. I firmly believe there’s a lot of bad pizza out there, a ton of “ok” pizza, some good pizza, and very rarely truly great pizza. BEST Pizza? It lives up to its name and earns a spot in that rare “great” category.
The sauce is fantastic: a nice, strong hit of quality oregano, tangy, a bit sweet, and perfectly balanced. The fresh basil blends with the tomato to create that Neapolitan magic. The cheese is different than your average slice shop using Grande, Saputo, etc.—it sits somewhere between a low-moisture mozzarella and a fresh mozzarella, creating a unique melt that’s not too wet but definitely not dry after the fire bake.
The dough was very good, light and airy with a decent open crumb, clearly fermented for flavor. It’s reminiscent of Neapolitan dough but adapted for a slice shop format, serving as a solid foundation for the pie.
Atmosphere is no frills, with limited indoor/outdoor seating and a busy crew working behind the counter. In a world where great pizza is rare, this one stands out. Out of the hundreds of shops I’ve tried, BEST Pizza earns a...
