Ordered (takeout) lunch from this newly opened poke place recently - when I dropped by around 1pm it was quite empty (although I saw a lot of grubhub/delivery orders). The place is really clean and spacious -- you can tell it's a pretty new restaurant haha.
The bowls come in 3 sizes (corresponding to 1/2/3 scoops of fish). I think the pricing was a little bit weird when I checked (like you could do something weird like order 2 scoops + 1 extra scoop and it was cheaper than ordering the 3 scoop size), but I don't remember exactly... I just went ahead and got the 3 scoops. (I think the 1 scoop size is not worth the price.)
Portion size was definitely very big; I was totally stuffed at the end of my meal. The fish was so delicious, really fresh and high-quality, and the selection of toppings was very expansive (and all quite yummy).
Only objection is just that the price point feels pretty high for poke, although to be fair the serving sizes were very generous (and it's not too crazy for the neighbourhood I guess). I'd probably come back soon, definitely a welcome addition...
Read moreJust opened in the heart of Long Island City, the new Poke Bowl spot is a modern and chill place for a quick sit-down meal or a fast take-and-go. Super fresh food, with hot and cold options, and you can build your own bowl with generous, tasty ingredients. They also have pre-set options, we tried the Hawaiian Chicken, Honolulu, and Chicken Katsu. All were delicious, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. Our favorite? Chicken Katsu, hands down! You’ve got to try it. We also had the lemon dessert: light, not too sweet, and super tasty.
The staff is incredibly friendly, probably the nicest we’ve met in the area. They patiently walked us through the menu and explained everything, especially helpful since it was our son's first time trying something spicy. Prices are fair and reasonable for what you get.
Only downside? No restroom for customers yet. Hope they add one soon. We’ll...
Read moreMy experience here was very bad. And looking at the responses to previous responses it seems this place doesnt take proper accountability. I spent almost 50$ here - between me and my partner on 2 bowls (One small size - 1 protein, One Medium size 2 Proteins). The statements regardless small portions (for protein) is true, its one spoon (like a small ice cream scoop) of each. I had to order extra protein and pay extra to compensate this. The lady behind the counter was very pre occupied and sort if rude. You can tell she was visibiley frustrated while taking my order, as she tried to attend to us and online orders. She rushed my girlfriend (who has anxiety disorder) to order with me since she said they do two people at the same time. It was her first time there let her take her time. After all this, the meat on the hawaiian chicken was extremely overdone. Bad experience here at...
