One of the best locations I have been to! We were stuck in traffic in Manhattan on the night of our arrival and I placed a call to the hotel where a gentlemen named "T" answered and when asked where to park the car to unload our belongings and then have the car parked by valet, he stated that there was only one spot left, but seeing as how we were running late he was more then happy to hold the spot, we arrived ten minutes later and after checking in with "T" at the front desk, he had another gentlemen help us unload the car and then he took the car to the last parking spot. We then took pour luggage to our room to find that on a hotel with 15 floors and across the street from an elevated Subway the room was quiet! No noise outside the door or walls or roof, no one running overhead or up the halls, no one beating on the walls, this was the quietest hotel I have ever been to. Did we hear the train? Yes, but we have a train track outside our bedroom window, so it was like being home! They had a device that made soothing wave crashing on the beach noises, and others for a way to quiet the noise, but we did not need it. Mr. "T" at the front desk even was kind enough to comp our parking fee! This was a great saving, we never asked to move the car the 4 days we were there, we took the train everywhere, and enjoyed the hotels delicious breakfast! If you left hungry you were to blame, eggs and sausage were hot and tasty, they also had make them yourself hot waffles, and bagels and toast and muffins and fruit and cereal and yogurt, milk and orange and apple juice, coffee, and water, this is a great selection. The people here really care, they were always helpful and always friendly, Mr. "T" deserves a raise and the management team needs to recognize their staff for outstanding customer service, clean linens, clean room, spotless hotel, no odors, nothing out of order, everything worked and the warm colors and art were exciting and fresh. This is a keeper, this hotel gets a 5 star rating from me, I urge anyone staying in the New York area to stay here, I know I will return, for this is truly home away from home. Thank you to the entire team at Fairfield Inn and Suites New York Queen/Queensboro Bridge, for treating us like family. And once again a special...
Read moreStaff are very welcoming at this hotel; they go out of their way to say hello and enquire about your stay.
Due to an early flight we arrived before our room was ready but the hotel offered to hold our luggage for us.
They provide a wonderful complimentary breakfast with eggs, sausages, oatmeal, pastries, fruit, waffles and so on. It's a busy room for breakfast but we never had to wait for a seat. The room has large windows which made the room cold (we visited in March). On weekdays breakfast finishes at 9 am which seemed to create a rush at this time. Perhaps extending it a bit later would help guests who like to sleep in a bit. They did extend the breakfast to 10 am one morning as there was a blizzard forecasted; letters were sent to each room to inform them of this. I thought this was a very nice gesture on their part.
Rooms, though a little small (normal for New York) are very clean. One more chair (in addition to the desk chair) in the room would be nice as it would allow more guests to not have to always sit on a bed. The small fridge in the room is wonderful to keep your drinks cold. We had a great view of the above ground subway system; which we enjoyed very much. A very large tv in the room.
Snacks are available for purchase in the lobby.
Though the hotel is not located close to stores, we did find a pizza place about a 5 mins walk (Mike's Pizza) and a grocery store about a 15 min walk away.
This hotel has great access to the subway system. If you use the North entrance and exit of the subway system you literally are only a couple of mins away from the hotel. If you use the other entrance and exit, you will be a further distance away and have to cross a busy street. We often took the E train which brings you right to Manhattan. We felt very safe at night walking from the subway to the hotel even late at night (1 am & midnight).
I would highly...
Read moreafter numerous calls to ensure we had still got a holiday we were reassured that the holiday was paid for but we were to be moved the Fairfield Inns. The first impression was the staff were very friendly and willing to help but mainly after a 9 or 10 out of 10 reviews.!||you are asked to give a card over the reception which I did with my revolut card which i was informed didnt work! I then gave my normal bank card which they then proceeded to try and make a payment for the rooms that I had prepaid. After giving evidence of this and an investigation I was told not to worry and it was sorted!||I was assured by Booking .com that our room was a top 15th floor with a view of manhattan. The reality was a 7th-floor disabled access room with a rear view of a building site.mmmm not good! the hallway also smelt of weed during our stay.||On a positive, the breakfast was really good and the areas of the hotel were cleaned constantly.||I witnessed a young Russian couple sat at the bar and the barman was being friendly until asking them to give at least 15%tip and then it became a little awkward as the couple were then made to give another payment to their room!||They did let us store our luggage on leaving till the end of the day at no extra charge which was good and also access to the subway is fantastic as it's only a 2 min walk away.||On returning home I have now found out the hotel had taken payment for the rooms TWICE as well as the payment from Booking.com and after calling them and emailing the manager Vanessa with all the details and invoice copies, I have had no text , call or email now for over a week to apologise or reimburse especially as they made me go into my overdraft with...
