I am a really tolerant and open person, BUT I cannot understand, how is it possible that a hotel staff in the most international place in the world does not speak any English? The staff did not understand the most basic words like "blanket" or "bed sheet" and was not communicative/helpful at all. First impression: we arrived to the hotel, a person just asked "check-in? Passport?" and meanwhile was talking to his family member? colleague? external friend? in another language. We were kindly allowed to take a photo of a wall were there were infos regarding breakfast and wifi (no further explanation) and well thats it. The room was okay when we checked in, but all over the floor it smelled heavily like weed (interesting isnt it - if you read up older reviews it smells like weed kind of always, kind of everywhere...) First day breakfast summarized in 2 words: sausage, eggs. Breakfast summarized of all other days: sausage (eggs seemed like a saturday special...) The room stayed dirty: the floor was not vacuum cleaned (only once when we left a paper with this special request), what kind of lotion we get was every day a surprise: one day 3 different types of body lotions but no shampoo/conditioner; other day shampoo and conditioner but no body lotion (at least they could have told us in advance which day is for body and which day for haircare or did I miss out on this new trend and should have known by myself?) But the most confusing fact: they changed our bedblankets every day but never let us a bed sheet except the day of check-in. So we called every day reception and within up to 1 hour waiting time we eventually got one (sometimes even 2...) The internet in the room was as surprising and random as everything else. Sometimes superfast, sometimes did not work at all. Luckily we observed that at least the people at reception could watch their daily soaps and make video calls with their relatives located probably a few tenthousand miles to the east anytime.
The last high-qualified-5-star-reception work was performed on our last day. We went to check out and just in that moment the receptionist started a phone call. Between 2 sentences he asked us with moving his lips "check.out?" took our keys and thats it. When we asked also with moving lips as this is probably the new receptionist trend where we could leave the luggage, he involved his right arm and pointed at the corner. Highest quality and most efficient way of communication ladies and gentlemen! At this moment we found that well it cannot go more down but the hotel probably read our minds and thought: "just watch": once we regressed to pick up the luggage we asked whether the guy could help us how to get to EWR airport. He answered leaned back on his chair in his jogging dress like the king of queens, as interested in support me as interested my grandmother is to run a marathon. But hey, who cares? I still took the courage to ask for the possibility of a public toilet. With the same enthusiasm he explained us that this was located in the -1 and was shadier and more disgusting than any public bathroom we found in New York - one of the 4 lamps were working, the toilet was with brown marks visibly for DAYS without proper cleaning and well... I do not want to go more into details. After this came literally my favourite part, the hilarious one: once we exited the toilet one of the workers proudly showed us with his hands and feets that down there is a whole FITNESS STUDIO equipped and ready to use - oh well thank you, 6 hrs after my check.out this is the most useful information I could get. Just to add on to all these funny things, the more down this hotel can sink is the moment you sit on his couch in the entrance - well you literally sink approx. 1,5 m-s and ask yourself a question: when? how? from where? how much? was this purchased.... All in all the 2-stars are only deserved because when we complained, they managed to fulfill more or less our requests, breakfast usually is not included in the standard Price and this was by far the most...

My wife, my friend and I got to Manhattan around 10:30 a.m. on September 26, 2015 and explored the city center throughout the day and reached the hotel by 10:15 pm. After ~10.5 miles walking in the city (I have an activity recorder watch) we were expecting a warm and relaxing shower and a good night sleep to get ready for the next day and explore more of what Manhattan has to offer. My wife was the first in the line for taking shower, she got out in 30 seconds with a surprising discovery. There was no water coming out of tub/shower faucets (cold or hot). I went to the front desk asked them to look into the issue. The house keeping came quickly and played with the faucet, etc but could not fix the problem (still no water). He called the front desk, and told me that the night manager will come and check the problem. After 10 minutes he called our room and told me he cannot do anything about it and we have to wait until tomorrow morning so that somebody will come and check the shower/tub. Apart from the fact that they did not do their best to solve the problem, we are deeply upset with the way that they treated us. The night-manager told me at 11:00 pm that we have to wait until tomorrow. He also said that we can leave the hotel right away and look for other hotels immediately without paying CIS. The bigger problem is the way that the manager said he is not going to charge us if we look for other hotels immediately. He said in a way that he is doing us a favor. Another problem was that even the bathroom faucet in the morning did not have hot water. The room that we stayed at (room 122) was in a noisy basement, across the gym, and underneath the breakfast room. I want to emphasize that there were constant noise starting just before 6 am with dragging the tables, chairs, etc and of course no sleep for us. I understand that room noisiness is not the greatest problem for staying at a hotel for one night, but having a room with no shower water is outrageous; therefore the CIS hotel should return the money they have charged us. When I was reserving the hotel room there was no indication that there may or may not be a problem with showers. If there was any indication, it is obvious that we would have not reserved the hotel room even at the cheapest rates given that we needed to shower after a long day full of activities. I want to bring the following facts to your attention: • Hotel room did not have water (hot or cold) in the tub/shower • Hotel room did not have hot water in the bathroom in the morning • They did not let us know in advance that there is problem with the room • They said the rooms are inspected every day, but it was apparent that this was a lie. We noticed that the tub was not clean; it means that they did not open the faucets to check if there is...
Read moreGosh, this hotel was so dirty! We went as a group in NY (more than 20 people)and most of us experienced the same thing.I got a lot of bed bug bites,my dad, also, found some bugs on him!Someone from my group complained about how they found bugs in the hotel room (not just bed bugs).Ok,enough with bed bugs,I’m gonna talk about a weird red thing.Next to the door,on the carpet, was a weird red spot,I kinda thought it was blood at first😂I asked the exact SAME person who had bugs in his room and he said that he had red spots on the wall behind the lamp.He also said that his skin began to itch whenever he entered the room (Idk if it was a joke but it actually sounded legit) The breakfast was amazing, what can I say?Cold eggs and bacon (or whatever that is..)delicious!They also had some fruit loops and hot chocolate which were the only okay things in this “breakfast”The whole group agreed with me.We were lucky that we had a supermarket nearby that we would go every night and buy food for almost the WHOLE day! Also the breakfast room was as small as my bed! There were like 4 tables! At one point I had to eat next to the window on the floor! You think this is all?Oh hunny,no!I don’t have a quite good relationship with elevators, actually who am I lying to?I HATE elevators with my WHOLE soul!Anyway,i think that the elevators were either broken or people were messing around with them. They stopped at every floor,we pressed the button to go on the 9th floor but we stopped at the 5th and no one got in.Then we were going down, but the 9th floor button was still pressed! Also,as last time no one got in.(btw some buttons were broken)The next day one of the elevators was getting fixed and we had to wait 5-10 minutes to get in. Okay, you are probably like “yikes, wth is this hotel?”,I promise this is the last one.Our card for the room was like ALWAYS BROKEN!We had to go down with that broken elevator again to the reception and get the card activated. It kind of became a kind of “lifestyle” to do that. Most of the bad things that happened in the hotel rooms were at floor number 9 and 7! I also heard that this hotel had bad staff but I didn’t really have anything to do with the staff, yes,I also noticed that they were face timing and talking to other people in other languages, which didn’t bother me,but it might bother others. Now I’ll tell you what you get if you pay 600 dollars or something for a one night stay, you get cold breakfast, dirty sheets, probably blood on the carpet and walls, bites, rude staff(according to my favorite review this hotel has) and bugs visiting you and sucking your delicious blood. As you see,I TOTALLY recommend this hotel if you like being eaten alive by bed bugs and probably want to...
