The food was way to expensive for what you were getting. I got the Macarons, chocolate croissant, and the dark chocolate bar. My Macarons were broken and almost all of them had the same exact taste from one another. Only ones that were good for the red one which I think was strawberry and the yellow one which was lemon. The chocolate croissant did not taste fresh and was still cold after the man warmed it up. The chocolate bar was good but all the fillings in it tasted the exact same. The only good part to the experience was that the men who helped me were really nice. That doesn’t help the terrible tasting food I would not go back.

Staff is pretty rude. Probably feels fancy working here? There was a pastry with no sign and I asked what it was and he said haughtily that the sign was there and then looked and it wasn't and then told me what croissant it was. Could've at least blurted out a minor sorry. Pastries themselves are nothing special. I think Starbucks is better to be honest. Fluffier and fresher. Not worth the money at all.

Yes, this place is expensive. We spent over $140 on coffees, sandwich and some cookies but this is a patisserie located in a 5 star hotel. 6 stars go to the friendly staff here, everyday a service with a smile and they made a real fuss of our children. Coffee was to our European taste, pastries amazing and the sandwiches very fresh. Highly recommended!

Pomme Palais brings Michel Richard's world renowned pastries (back) to New York. This is his return to New York since he came to the States as a pastry chef to work for Gaston Lenotre's NYC foray in 1974. The space, designed by Jeffrey Beers, is contemporary and whimsical if a little bit gaudy and corporate. There are a wide selection of breakfast pastries alongside to-go sandwiches, drinks, coffee and - of course - cakes and french sweets of all kinds (eclairs, macarons, etc. etc.). The staff is very kind (and dressed in uniforms that match the space). The prices are on the higher side but it's all made up for by the quality of the pastries.

Try the eclairs - they are the best.

Get there close enough to 5pm and all the pastries are buy 1 get 1 free!

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am related to Michel Richard (though in my opinion, that makes me the best possible reviewer since I could tell you right away if the pastries were off - having eaten them...

We used to love this place and have been coming here since 2014. The croissants and pastries tasted superb as if they were flown in directly from Europe. Lately we have seen the quality of the croissants, sandwiches and pastries drop while prices have been marked up significantly and the shop space has been reduced to less than half its original size. For instance the 4inch chocolate cake has been marked up from $20 to $30 and the quality is not the same as before. Will not be visiting again until the owners bring the quality back to what was provided in 2014-2015. Do not recommend a visit for the price...
