Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pop's Pizza and wanted to share my experience. Here are the facts:

Overall...

FOOD: Absolutely loved this joint. The Margherita is an absolute must. Great crust texture. Slight crunch with chew, just as it should be. Fresh delicious ingredients. The Margherita had blobs of sauce that at first had me worried the bites would be inconsistent and not favorable. Boy, was I wrong. Eating this slice was like a good dj. Just when you're over one flavor, there is a new one. Then you get the old one back for maybe 1 or two bites... so just as you're ready for that sauce again, BOOM, there it is! It was an absolute experience that was majorly delicious.

The pepperoni was a little more on the generic side. It lacked the robust flavors of the marg I had just eaten. The slice (plain cheese) was very delicious.

INSIDE AND DINING: Do not expect to find a comfortable place to sit and eat. There is room inside for 2, maybe 3 people. You simply walk up to the roughly 24"x24" counter and order. To eat, there are 2 areas. One is a bar directly connected to the building. The other, is sheltered from the elements on the street which is also a standing bar with 3 sides of counter top. Go inside, grab a small space of counter, eat, and get on with your day.

IN CLOSING: I'm not sure why the pepp had such a generic taste, but at least I know for next time to simply get 2 Margherita slices. I absolutely urge you to check out Pops. In the mecca of all things pizza (NYC), Pops does in fact stand out...
