This has to be the worst Popeye’s location ever. I walk in and stand behind two people who are lined up in front of the register. They walk away and several employees behind the counter just mill around and don’t even acknowledge I’m standing there. After about seven minutes, as there is no one in front of me, I ask if anyone is working the register. The warm bodies- because apparently they don’t feel like working- tell me they don’t take orders at the register and direct me to the kiosk behind me. At this point there are several people who came in after me already ordering at the kiosks. I request to make my order at the register and the mindless warm bodies behind the register tell me they cannot take orders at the register, which I know is a lie. I leave and just make an order using the app later that day. I figure they can’t mess that up as there is little interaction with customers who order via the app, well hold my beer. When I go to pick up my order, they can’t find it and realize it was given to someone else. Rather than acknowledge they made an error which means they must not check the order confirmation from the app when they hand out food being picked up, the fools question me about why I took so long to pick up my order! They don’t offer to fix the problem or provide a solution and for some reason they thought I was going to leave without a refund or my food. I have to escalate the problem, complain loudly, and refuse to leave until I’m given my money or a new order. The level of incompetence and ignorance by the warm bodies who are paid to stand at this Popeye’s location is astounding. A customer should not have to advocate to be given something they paid for. Avoid this location in Parkchester at all costs. Go to the Popeye’s located at Westchester square, or the one on Boston Road, or on Story Ave instead. After waiting on line for more than 10 minutes with other customers asking, why is taking so long? After asking the animal at the counter she reply "That I'm setting up to close down". All this is happening with customers on line waiting. Waiting on line just to place your order and then to be treated rudely by the staff for asking why the long wait. With only 4 customers in the restaurant waiting, it should not take 10 minutes for each order to be place. This animal after I complain and ask for the restaurant information, she rip the the top of the receipt and also the area with her name from the receipt. She's the only african american working the front area in the night shift.
