I’ve lived in this neighborhood for about 10 years. Dealing with this GameStop store in Parkchester has been unacceptable at all. They are more often than usually rude to all customers no matter the age. It’s very rarely can they have decent employees willing to assist you. All I can say is amongst the employees and store managers pre-and current of pandemic has to be about less than a handful of eager, willing to be there and actually help you out. I’m not even talking about major assistance, I mean as simple as checking the availability of an item is too much for this store’s employees. Not to mention, there’s literally two people working in the store maybe three on a good day. The store is never crowded, and they refuse to pick up the phone. One day I’ve even experimented by calling while I stood right outside the store to see if maybe they were having technical issues with the phone or if maybe they were busy and couldn’t get to the phone but no, it was empty in there, a ghost town. I heard the phone ring where I stood, yet not one of the employees picked up the phone. When I walked in and addressed my issue and mention the fact that no one picks up the phone, they denied that was true. But were speechless when I mentioned the phone just rang now before I walked in that was me no one had anything to say. It’s really unfortunate people are spending more than $50 in the store at a time, and you can’t even receive decent customer service. There’s one particular employee a young guy I don’t know his name that is always unprofessional, disrespectful, and refuses to even attempt to work. But when one addresses it, he brushes you off and goes on to the next customer. These are far from the type of employees a company should...
Read moreBEWARE! Theres no parking so I double parked outside and allowed my 13 year old to go in quickly to purchase a $20 robux and $20 V-Bucks card with my debit card. The cashier offered a 1 yr subscription and my son declined and the cashier insisted he get the subscription without an adult present and charged me $15. When I realized they over charged on my receipt I went to kindly confront the cashier and asked for a refund because I ALREADY have a membership; some woman who im going to assume was the manager rudely behind the counter stated that it is on ME that i allowed my 13 year old son to use my card. Once i mentioned im going to contact the BBB and also leave this review she tried to change her tune about my refund. I was too angry to even wait to receive it. BEWARE they think it is ok to offer a membership to children under 18 using their parent's credit card. The audacity to validate that a child could make that decision. I suggest a customer service class should be taught in this location also if they want to get technical and give parenting advice I suggest they ask for ID when using a credit or debit card for any purchase instead of being thieves and asking for an additional $15 to an...
Read moreSystem that accepts Apple trade in's has been down for about a week. Was told it is a company wide issue but when I went to another location the trade was done with no problem. Tried to make trade in's and a purchase and was unable to make any transaction at this location. When mentions of how poor the store has been funtioning lately an associate responded by saying if you keep complaining why come to the store, there are other locations we can go to. This is true but for a neighborhood store customers should not be turned away and forced to travel to make simple purchases and trades. The "manager" that was there did not offer to check if another location had the item I wanted and just stood there telling me the trade system was down, they did not have any stock of the system I wanted and told me there was nothing she could do. I never had trouble at the Bruckner location and they will be getting my business from now on. Don't know what is so prestigious...
