There's multiple things worth sharing at this place. First of all, I ordered with a friend a meal for two of spicy chicken (the ten dollar deal). We paid and were happily waiting at some seats for our food to come. The cashier didn't bother letting us know drinks do not come with the meal, so I asked for a cup for water. His response was that water cups were not provided and that I'd need to pay for the water cup. Fine, I said, let me buy a water cup for 2.50 then. I attempt to pay with a credit card (no cash on me) and he tells me 5 dollar minimum. I ask well what can I do, and he offers no advice. I forego the cup and move on with it thinking I'll just eat this without water then. Food arrives, and we start eating. I go for the biscuit first and my friend goes for the chicken. After two bites, they realized it isn't spicy. I on the other hand never knew since I hadn't touched the chicken yet. We go back to the cashier to let them know they didn't provide the spicy as we ordered. He switches it out for us (still didn't offer us a cup for our troubles by the way). Afterwards I see him picking out and discarding my half eaten biscuit and the chicken that was touched. In the exact same bowl there was the other pieces of regular chicken. Instead of also tossing that food out, he goes to place it back onto the heating with all the other chicken - waiting to be served to others. I'm not a dirty person nor is my friend, but that definitely constituted as a violation of hygiene....
Read moreI just went to one of the Popeyes located in Elmhurst, 89-30 Queens Blvd. NY 11373. I placed 2 orders of 11 pieces fried chicken, 3 Fish sandwiches and 7 Classic chicken sandwiches, total of $87.51. I requested one of the 11 pieces fried chicken order with all dark meat, mix with 2 wings and 9 thighs. When I placed the order, the cashier Seema said they usually don't do that but she will do it this time.
I saw them already boxed my order, then I asked Seema that I need to check the order before I walk out the door. I opened two boxes of fried chicken, one of the 11 pieces was not prepared as I requested. So I brought the box to the counter and asked Seema, then she told me she couldn't give me what I requested for. And then I asked for refund if she couldn't do it.
Seema took back those two boxes of chicken and placed them near the food preparation area instead of throw them in garbage in front of me. I already opened those boxes and might touched one or more chicken with my hand in dinning area. And at the end she preferred to give me a refund instead of satisfy a customer.
I visited this location last April, and the order was shorted two apple pies. What's wrong with this restaurant? Their service was super bad and rude. I will never ever go to this location anymore and might just report this hygiene issue to the Health Department. Good luck to every one who visits...
Read moreFood is good. Quiet place. This year:7/28 2019 I had ordered some boneless chicken wings. Apparently they had charged me $10 for 9 pieces. Before they attempt to say anything about this statement. I count the pieces and confirmed in multiple pop eyes restaurants that for $10 you should get exactly 20 pieces. Another thing to state is that around 7-8 p.m. the quality of their chicken goes down quite a bit, as I compared to my previous experience with their chicken. It seems that their new cook is a bit inferior to their old one. This seems to be the case as I had tasted multiple orders of their chicken the other day. Instead of tasting the usual slightly spicy taste of their chicken, all I could taste was salt. This pestered me to no end as I had asked how many pieces of chicken they usually serve. Which is supposedly 500, however I doubt it, as most places that serve at least 500 pieces would change to a fresh batch or recently made batches within 3-4...
