We used to come to Tomo regularly but slowly stopped coming over the years as more and more quality Japanese restaurants have cropped up. We were recently in the neighborhood and decided to eat here. Not much has changed. The dĂ©cor has been updated somewhat and the restaurant is nice and clean. The booths for seating are still comfy and afford some privacy. We ordered eel avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll, beef teriyaki lunch bento, salmon teriyaki lunch bento, kani salad, and shrimp roll. The shrimp roll was wrapped in noodles and deep fried. Had a nice overall presentation and tasted pretty good. This was my favorite out of all the items we ordered. The kani salad was also good albeit small portion wise. Both bento boxes came with soup, rice, salad, three pieces of shumai and four pieces of California roll. The eel avocado and shrimp tempura rolls were average. Again, they were on the small side, but I didn’t mind too much. Overall, I though the food was okay, and the sushi was decent. They offer lunch specials and sushi/sashimi dollar specials (per piece). It’s not the most spectacular food but it’s good for the price, I suppose.

I dont even know where to start!! I've been coming to Tomo for almost 7 years & this is where I 1st tried sushi!!! There service has always been amazing, it has a very good ambiance. The resturant its self is always clean as well as the bathroom. Now lets get down to the good stuff the food lol The prices are amazing 3 rolls for 10$ which i always get & a special roll as well. I would suggest trying the Eel Avacado roll, Spicy Crab, & Spicy salmon these are my favorites & feel they blend the seasoning very well. As for a special roll i suggest the Volcano roll. The sushi is always fresh!!

Love the promotion.. 3 hand rolls for $16. If you are here have the promotion and also order some sashimi. More then 6 years coming here, actually I was going more to the one on 37 ave in Jackson heights and time to time to this one and in both places hand rolls and sashimi are great! For those who are scared of wasabi.. in this place is not that spicy.. so try it. I’m giving it 4 Stars because they always take too long with the payment. Food is 5 stars.. TRY THE SALMON SASHIMI ❀

After today I will never come back. Been coming here over 4 years at least 2 times a month. Called for pickup over $150 and was told by the male boss it will be ready 25-30mins. Drove over and 30mins later was told it was not ready yet. No problem they are busy, was told 5-10mins more. Waited patiently 30mins later and was told almost ready again 5-10mins more by the boss wife. Ok sure. Waited another 20mins and that is when I am getting frustrated like the other customers waiting. I started asking where is my order and if they forgot or if they don’t care about my order then I will go elsewhere. I was trying to be understanding where I didn’t want to leave when they started my order. But that is no excuse that you are busy. Service has definitely gone downhill and covid is not an excuse. 2weeks ago when I came they even got my order wrong and I just let it go because I have been a loyal customer. Finally got my order about 1 hour and 30mins after I called to place the order. Boss lady didn’t even say sorry or even a thank you. That’s great when I have been understanding and loyal customer over 4years. At least learn to be honest with your customers. If you are busy tell them the correct time the order will be ready. Not 1hour and 30minutes later. Good luck

Note to the boss and his wife. You guys are busy and very lucky. But if you cannot respect and appreciate your customers, just stay home and count...

Honestly very disappointed with this restaurant, for one they do NOT speak Japanese. æ—„æœŹèȘžă‚’è©±ă›ăŸă›ă‚“ă€‚ But that's okay because they speak Chinese and English here. Asides that, it is a Japanese-style restaurant.

I was seated and the servers brought me to the Bar Table because I was alone, but afterward, they completely ignored me. I was sitting there waiting to order and my check. They would just move on to another table.

The chef next to me was the only reason why I was able to order my food, ask for the check and change. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have been waiting for at least 30 minutes just to order. Aware and taking position of the server's job, he took my order and placed it on my table.

Food is great, it is a good spot if you want sushi, price is relatively cheap.

I had to wait almost 10 minutes just to get my change. I don't think I've ever waited that long just to ask for some simple change, not like I have ordered anything humongous.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I would not come here again because of how the servers treated me. If I could personally give tips to the chef that took my order, I...
