Prime Grind coffee & espresso — Restaurant in New York

Chai latte was subpar at best and that’s me being kind. It just tasted like really sweet milk (think vanilla lasco), I kept looking on the bottom to see what’s going on like did they use a pre mix did they not use enough chai mix like what? I didn’t want to be rude so I just drank it …. Mind you it’s advertised at 5.50 but if you wanted it iced / different milk it brings it up to $8 so I was a little annoyed I paid $8 for some sweet milk , no clove or cinnamon taste nothing….. the person making the drinks is not a barista so you’re not getting that quality check here , just a ‘solid’ cup of coffee and a well lit SUPER CLEAN and relaxing atmosphere for what this area of the neighborhood is… I’m surprised some people reviewed it as the “best chai” they’ve ever had, they’ve clearly not had a real or decent chai tea…. The pre packaged stuff from TAZO IN TARGET taste better I SWEAR. Anyone who leaves a review for this place as “best anything” is just happy to have a decent coffee shop in the hood. These are not the kinds of people going to the best coffee shops around the world trying different beans and roasts, they just want a cup of something lol. I don’t blame them , the owner seems to knows the regulars. Upon entry he didn’t even say good morning to me or ask if I had any questions about the menu and was pretty standoffish and stone faced but as soon as his regulars start coming in it’s “ hey Johns how are ya!”. Just a note , people notice things like that and it’s can come across as very rude and like you’re giving certain customers...

Calm & Quiet. Free WiFi and great iced chai! There’s also a printer so you can pay to print things. The vibe was great and I really enjoyed the music selection. I got an iced chai with oat milk and vanilla. It was delicious 😍 They had pastries but I suggest they get labels to differentiate between the kinds. I also suggest putting the logo, icon, or restaurant name inside the shop on one of the walls for customers to take photos with their drinks.

I also got a matcha loaf… 🥲 didn’t like it as much. It was dense with an overwhelming lemon taste.

Update: Still the same quiet chill spot and the chai is still to die for. It must be a staple because I was relaxing there once and about 5 people came in to order it back to back. And they added more plants and outside they even have doggy treats and water for the pups. I hope they last a long time as a staple in...

I’ve given this spot three solid tries, hoping for a different experience, but unfortunately, nothing has changed. The energy is consistently unwelcoming, and it’s clear that kindness is reserved for a select few. That’s not just bad for business it’s disappointing on a human level.Every customer, regardless of who they are, deserves to be treated with respect. It’s disheartening to witness behavior that feels selective, especially when it seems to fall along lines of race. As a person of color, I hoped for better, but I’m walking away with the sense that kindness isn’t extended to everyone equally here.If multiple people are noticing and speaking about your attitude, it might be time for some real self-reflection. I truly wish him well, but I’ll be taking my business to cafés that value all...
