We came here to celebrate our family member in her law school graduation. My bf and I were ordering from the bar 2 drinks in when our bartender (Edna?) told us she transferred our bill to the section we were sitting in. Upon asking for our bill, we saw that it reflected every order in the section, and when we asked about it, our server (Malcom?) met us with unnecessary attitude. When I asked for the manager (Jessica) to avoid dealing with someone who didn’t have to consideration and respect to talk to a human being about the bill, the manager came around already on defense mode which was such a turn off. Like can I tell you about my experience before you bring up in arms about your feelings? I proceeded to begin to tell her about my experience with the server and as she was attempting to defend him, our guest of honor showed up at the bar awkwardly and confused because the server asked her to come to the bar (something we would’ve never asked had he asked us how to proceed moving forward regarding the table bill), putting us in a weird position. We told the guest of honor all was good, and she didn’t have to worry about anything and proceeded to split our bill with the manager, something we could’ve done with Malcom had he simply asked. Especially since Edna the bartender said she transferred our bill to the section table bill after our 2nd drink order. I was very disappointed by the attitude of the staff members on the floor. Edna and Roland the bartenders tried to make up for our experience with shots and we were appreciative for them. Also, another thing to note is you can’t smoke on the terrace which is annoying when they don’t serve real food in the place. The drinks are great because the bartenders are great. But everything else is highly questionable. Unsure if I’ll ever come back and the place is run by management who seem so disconnected by the...
Read moreI love visiting New York City, and I love the variety of choices for food and drink even more! Our party of 6 (4 adults, 2 young teens) made a day of dashing about, taking in various sights, and generally enjoying ourselves outside of our own territory. When it came time to think about getting back to our pickup point, I was definitely being insistent on choosing somewhere I could relax and get some interesting libations and tasty fare to fill in the last few hours of our stay. My other half and I broke off from the others, they stuck to the streets for their food (not like there's anything wrong with that!). We then headed down to the Hard Rock Hotel to where RT 60 is located, up on the 34th floor. There is no sign outside, but as long as you know the address, it's easy enough to find. It wasn't busy because it was relatively early, reservations aren't required. Very nice inside, I don't think there's a seat anywhere that I would be uncomfortable in, plush pillows dot the seats, pleasant views on both sides. Our server was wonderful, and took good care of us. The menu only currently has a dozen choices, but this supposed to be a lounge after all, not a full scale restaurant. I enjoyed the 2 selections I ordered... the cod fritters were perfectly crisp fried on the outside, chewy on the inside, and the tartar sauce was loaded with fresh herbs. The shishito peppers were mild and flavorful, although I hit one spicy one! He tried the croquettas, and also said they were tasty. All presented very nicely. I'm also a fan of the 2 different drinks I tried, no question. I would definitely return if I'm back in...
Read moreAttempting to book and pay for a wedding welcome party at RT60 almost a year in advanced has been the most frustrating experience ever (coming from someone who works in nightlife). The team in charge of scheduling over at Hard Rock is a mess—we were handed off three times (first to Michael Manjor who left us in complete limbo), then Emmy Shazer who informed us a month later that Mike was no longer at Hard Rock, and then Desiree Gambrell who we began working with since December. Desiree was helpful in answering our questions but when it came time to book were told that the rooftop was already booked for a corporate event on the same date. While we realize there is a formal process, we’ve had this date in our subject lines of our email since October 2023, and weren’t given even a little as a heads up—our emails from 2/18 attempting to book received no response until we called and followed over email again, which then prompted an email on 2/29 from Desiree to inform us the rooftop was booked. If you’re considering having any important event (wedding, etc.) highly encourage you look elsewhere. We are a few months out and now have to scramble for another option, not something you want to deal with in addition to the stress of planning destination wedding. With that said, very disappointed in the customer service, communication, and execution of the Hard Rock Team in charge of the rooftop, which is a shame because as once loyal customers we were looking forward to hosting our celebration...
