Read moreBefore you read my review of Sammy, which is what I’ve gave 4 stars to, read this first: the man right across from Sammy has pretty good food and he is pricing his platters at 4.75 with the soda included. I will say that the reason his cart gets less attention is that he is a shy man that can not communicate well. The food is good, however. Now , on to Sammy’s : good food , except it seems that the only difference between him and others is that he uses a lot of black pepper. Lamb was well done and smooth, rice was perfect. It is not however, worth 9$ for a platter without a drink, and a 30 minute wait . His food is good, basically a halal cart that puts more black pepper in the meat. The only reason that he is so popular is that he is tech savvy, and had a Facebook page while Facebook was in its height. The “give me a like on Facebook” sign on his cart probably caught social media attention.. then yelp attention.. then newspaper attention.. he even delivers with Uber eats.. I give it to him, he can network, but the food is nothing like the miracle that the newspaper articles display. It is upper average. So in conclusion, if you are some outgoing type who likes to try food popular in social media because it’s owner is outgoing, you can wait on a long line at Sammy’s. If you are quiet like me, and go for the underdog, give the man next to Sammy, with the red beard, your business. You will not be disappointed. As I’ve said, Sammy is good but not worth the extra...
Read moreThere are 2 Sammy cart next to each other at this corner so it’s quite confused when I first encounter them. But I followed the image in google and picked what I people took picture about this place. Served us are 2 man, they are very quick, straight forward but maybe not too talkative/energetic. I realised they did put a mind on their work as they give us 2 forks (for 2 persons)- this is a nice little details to know. Good job guys! We called chicken over rice (most of the time we called this safe dishes when we first visit a halal cart) and were offered to choose between Pita or Salad. Choosing pita might be a regret since the box was already filled with rice (little did we know until later). Good: Very big and filling (with rice) box A lot of white sauce and they are rich and creamy The chicken is not bad, nicely seasoned and balanced The serving is quick and clean Price is transparent and clear on the board in the front The place is well known Bad: There are too much rice and very little chicken/meat compares to other halal food cart 9$ is not cheap compare to other food cart around the same area, so you can look around and try the other one The servers look tired, I hope they have enough compensation for their job 😶
= you can give this place a try if you are new to this area but i dont think i will visit it again if it wasn’t for some special dishes that...
