Ate in with best friend. Came hyping this place up cus i love their steak. We were in the middle of 2 carne asadas when we found a hair in my rice. Long & black was very gross. Had been turned off, but nonetheless i ate most everything else.
Told the waitress, they offered to switch it out for me, maybe i should have did that. But why would i want more to eat/take home after that.... stomach was turned off tbh
She kinda brushed it off, im a waiter so i straight up asked to take it off the bill. Cus thats gross why should i pay for that, and on top of it they were flippant about it. Also, the first waitress said she would take it off. Then the second waitress brought the bill, $41
Manager came out and said he would only take off $6.50 for the rice, since i ate everything else. Ok you know what, fair. But im a waiter and if my table found hair on their food, its comped. Even so, i TOLD the waitress i would still tip on the original amount. That wouldve been her cue to just... charge me the right way. But she didnt communicate with her coworker, so none of that happened. The manager/owner kept talking over my friend ignorantly and basically was trying to downplay the HAIR IN THE FOOD saying "oh, that happens, im sure you know as waiters" actually no..... we have to keep stuff clean where we work.... lol
I paid the $31, no argument. But im not coming back. My manager always told me, puffing your chest & ego & tiny amounts like $6.50 is not worth losing a client for good, which is what happened here. I paid it but i am not coming back, cus A thats gross, and B its super unprofessional cus downplaying hair in the food is a red flag. Imagine what they actually try...

Waitresses were friendly but very distracted, no communication between staff. Our first waitress saw the hair in my friends plate and did not notify anyone. A second waitress brought us the check and claimed she didn’t know anything. My friend walked up to the counter asking to speak to management.
An older man, presumably an owner or manager, proceeded to tell us he would only comp $6.50 out of $41 because we “ate all the rest of the food and didn’t ask for another plate.”
We were fine with paying our bill, but he was extremely rude towards us. We simply wanted to notify someone.
First off, I wouldn’t order anything else after finding a hair and complaining about it. A professional establishment wouldn’t blame a customer for being upset about contaminated food, we weren’t demanding a free meal.
Anyway, wouldn’t go back....

I ate a little bit of the chicharrón but it was already 11pm. I left it for the next day. Upon reheating in a pan. I came across some things that weren’t there before. Never in my life did I think I would’ve seen MAGGOTS cooking out of the pork. We threw out everything. I called the store to let them know. The manager thanked me for letting him know and if I wanted a refund he would do so. That was less than 24 hours of buying. I called back today for a refund and he said he spoke to the owner and he said I should’ve said something the same day. I don’t want to argue with them. I am now taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening to others. This review with pics and a complaint to the health dept...
