Review for 2910 NYCBCH 2910 BROADWAY, ASTORIA....... An other BAGEL COFFEE shop. In ORDER TO HAVE OPTIMAL HEALTH, ONE MUST INCLUDE LEAN PROTEIN, FRESH VEGETABLES, LEGUMES, FRUITS, AND LOADS OF FIBERY FOODS FOUND IN WHOLE GRAIN FOODS, NOT PROCESSED white flour... NEVER judge a book by its cover, the place looks good and clean... MOST OF THE FOOD served are high in CALORIES and CHOLESTEROL (bacon, cheeses, cream cheese, waffles, eggs etc c...)BAGELS TOO. Except for coffees, teas, and a few other items on the menu. IF ONE WANTS EARLY DIABETES, ♥ ATTACK . (from clogged arteries) this is the FOOD to have, wherever served... Soups taste like industrial soups, delivered frozen TO HEAT AND SERVE.... I TRIED THE ITALIAN WEDDING, tastes like the one I had at the deli.... THE STEEL CUT OATMEAL IS VERY Watery..... FOOD HANDLING.... Is horrible and In ORDER DAILY FROM NON PROFESSIONAL STAFF, NOT Trained PROPERLY IN SANITARY FOOD HANDLING. ... I have observed the barista put her hands in a cup after wiping off the counter with a dirty rag then proceeded to serve coffee in the same cup,....THEN serving tap water without ICE TO ME. (they want u to buy the water ). THE BAGEL GUY handling cold food without gloves and packing cream cheese with a spatula THEN FIXING IT with his bare hands..... Etc.. Etc.... BAGELS they serve are huge, very doughy and heavy. If u scoop the inside you can roll it in a dough ball, they PACK 250/500 CALORIES PER, add the cream cheese for another 250/600 calories for a 500/1100 calories. They also offer FLAVORED, COLORED CREAM CHEESE that looks like salmon etc.... Yukk! Their cheese, and SPINACH PIE is all raw dough, (the ones I was served) lots of butter, HARDLY ANY SPINACH., THE CAKES are DINER STAPLES loaded with SUGAR , butter and calories (I was served a STALE layered CHOCOLATE CAKE) was assured it was FRESH Gave it back. The COFFES are of inferior quality especially the ESPRESSO. (MR LAVAZZA where are you?????). Their STAFF mostly UNPROFESSIONAL TEENAGERS , UNTRAINED IN FOOD HANDLING ,... Trying to do their BEST.....PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED FOOD WORKERS COMMEND $20/$25/hour.... THE OWNERS I Was told by one manager... ARE FORMER CONSTRUCTION Workers /CONTRACTORS Within their GREEK Community Turned Coffee shop Owners, IT BEATS BEING IN CONSTRUCTION .... TO MAKE LOTS OF EASY MONEY at the expense of their clients /workers with subpar, unhealthy food CHOICES (EXCEPT for some items) AND MINIMUM WAGES for THEIR HARD WORKING Untrained WORKERS....IN FOOD HANDLING....
Like Don KING (boxing promoter) would say... "ONLY IN America" ..... FREDDY MERCURY of the band 👑 QUEEN summed it up better.. "ANY WAY THE...

I tried their mini sesame bagel with cinnamon walnut raisin spread and mini everything bagel with lox spread. I had both bagels toasted and it came out perfect. It wasn't over toasted and I didn't taste any burnt areas.
I liked the cinnamon spread with sesame bagel combination. The spread wasn't overly sweet and they even added cinnamon powder to it. I didn't mind it at all. I preferred the stronger taste. I thought the amount of spread to bagel ratio was perfect for me. I would definitely recommend this combination to others.
As for the everything bagel with lox spread. The lox spread was tasty and you could taste the salmon. This spread didn't have chunks of salmon in it but I wish some tiny pieces would be mixed in throughout. I also thought this combination worked well. Salmon flavor is so strong that I think the everything bagel somewhat tones it down a bit. I would recommend this to others.
For drinks, I got the strawberry smoothie. It was quite refreshing. Didn't taste any ice chunks. It wasn't too sweet. Didn't have any unwanted powdered additives. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't too watered down and had a decent viscosity to it. I would recommend it.
This place has so many different types of spread that it is hard to decide. I do like the consistency of their spread and it isn't too heavy on the cheese side. It's a good balance between the cheese and whatever they plan to mix with it.
They have a window towards the back and you can see them hand roll the bagel before boiling it then baking it. A very streamlined process and the kitchen is kept somewhat clean and neat.
The staff were friendly and paid attention to your orders. There were 2 people working the cashier and taking your orders while 4-5 other people were preparing the orders.
I saw two dogs walk through this store without any trouble. I am assuming this place is dog friendly and I do appreciate that. Granted those dogs were small dogs. I will try and bring a big dog next time and see what they say =P
One huge plus, they accept credit cards!! I am not a fan of bagel places that do not accept credit cards =D
Overall I would recommend this place and will definitely be coming back to try other spread and bagel...
Read moreI would like to share the most awkward experience I have ever had in this bagel shop. I come with my daughter every week and order the small banana peanut butter smoothie. The smoothie is made in front of you so I always see how it’s made. 1 banana 1 scoop of peanut butter. Milk honey and ice.
Now the strange experience. I went on a day this time with my wife and kid and she expressed interest in the smoothie so I said ok how about a large this time. I figured hey a little over a $2.00 difference but seems like more is better for sharing right?
Happen to be watching over the counter and I watch the barista make the smoothie the following way.
1 banana 1 scoop of peanut butter Milk Honey But this time double or triple the amount of ice.
I think to myself now that’s insane to pay more for just more ice so I take a sip and lo and behold. It tasted like an ice smoothie with zero flavor.
I presented my distaste for it to the cashier. And here is where the rudeness presented itself. Saying we will remake it. I said but how will you remake it. Obviously with more banana and peanut better right. I’m not going to pay 2.50 more for just more ice to fill the cup.
The response was if I want more banana I would have to pay the 1.25 for the extra banana. I replied isn’t that what the up charge for the size difference is. To already pay for the fact that you are suing more ingredients… I’m not paying for triple ice lol
Anyway I felt like it was a prank out of an episode of Seinfeld. So I just asked for a refund.
The cashier then proceeded to process the refund in cash as I saw on the receipt. But told me it would be returned to my card. Working for a payment processor I told the individual it will not go back on the card as you ran it as a cash refund. The attitude came out and basically they told me I am wrong. Well 3 days later guess who was correct. The full amount was charged. So now I had to go back an additional day to go get the cash refund that I was told would be on the card. The employee obviously did this on purpose. As I got snickered at upon returning. I want to personally thank the cashier for really showing me who’s boss and laying out that “I will show him” mentality. You...
