This was my FAVORITE pizza in the nyc before until tonight.
I hanged out with my friends who I haven’t seen for a rlly long time and I suggested to try my fav pizza in nyc.
The start is good, we ordered the pizza and enjoyed it a lot.
Then there’s one chicken dishes sent on our table and we heard the waiter said “chicken on (the) house” so we just accept it without thinking more. And then the lady waitress being super pissed at as and get to our table said “u guy didn’t order this so u shouldn’t eat it”. My friends and I were super confused and my friend explained to her because we hear the waiter said chicken on the house. She then said super aggressively saying that” why should we give u this food on the house?” We said we don’t know? And she’s keep arguing with my friend who consisting explain that we hear that so we accept it. I was super terrified cuz i never meet the is circumstance before. Why she’s so aggressively and emotional to us. Why she makes us feel like we’re lying… I feel super bad and sad, don’t have appetite to eat the pizza anymore. And she also said this is other table’s food, so they have to wait for make a new one. But, it’s the house giving the wrong food, why we should we take responsibility for it. Although my bf told her that we might hear it wrong cuz we’re just sit under the speaker with loud music, she still keep blaming us and shouting at us if we didn’t order it, we shouldn’t eat it. All I heard is blaming and scolding like we’re child’s who did the wrong things. After the argument, she left, clean the table next to us super aggressively, and I’m just hearing the sound of the plates hitting each other together, makes me feel super sad cuz I know we are not that kind of person she’s scolding for…. Then she never came back to serve us. We wanna pay the bill but no one take our bill. So we have to go out to ask the receptionist for the bill and pay for it. We still pay her 18% percent of the tips but I know I will never come back to this restaurant again, even tho it’s my fav pizza place in nyc. Hope the house can train the waitress better cuz u serve the wrong food, not the customers take the responsibility and being...

Back to my current favorite spot for pizza in Lower East Side. This is the definition of a good NY pizza.
Pro tip: you can make a res to avoid the ridiculously long takeout line. I lined up 1.5 hour for a single slice last visit. Their dining space is quite cozy for groups. Just keep in mind you have to order whole pizza if you dine in.
*Hot Boi* I need to rate hot boi five stars because it’s MY FAV SLICE in nyc. It is perfectly spicy with hot honey drizzled on top. Last time I even asked for extra hot honey for more spicy and sweetness. Each slice is loaded with pepperroni peppercorn. The pizza crust is thin and crispy, while the dough is floppy.
*Eggplant Parm As a eggplant fan I loved this starter. There are big slices of breaded eggplant with a cheesy coat. A light side to eat with the pizza.

The buzziest pizza spot for both locals and tourists. All my friends who have been to Scarr’s rated it as the best pizza in NYC.
However, I was quite pissed with the unreasonably long wait. I heard the usual wait is 40 mins but we waited for 1.5 hours for to-go slices on a weekend evening. Apparently they were short-staffed and prioritized dine-in orders. The cashier lady avoided our gaze and only took order like every 10 mins, which made the takeout line even longer. She apologized to us when she finally took mine so I didn’t get mad at her
* Hot Boy w/ Hot Honey on top I was surprised that the pizza was still very hot despite my long wait. Hot Boi consists of beef pepperoni, jalapeños, and Mike’s extra hot honey. It was pretty spicy though! The crust and the dough were thin and most importantly, not soaked with oil. The cheese layer was soft and stretchy — a solid proof of how fresh it was!
IMPORTANT: Ask for a drizzle of hot honey on top! It added extra level of sweet and spicy flavor, taking your pizza to another level. I seldom eat pizza crust but their crust was so flavorful with hot honey.
It was literally chef kissed and worth every bit of its hype. I will definitely grab another slice IF the line isn’t insanely long. Or bring a group of people to...
Read moreNo pizza in NYC has mattered since I had my first L'Industrie slice. Head and shoulders the best slice of pizza I've had in my life. Well, I've had some bomb pizza in Naples but we are leaving that out cuz I was fork and knifing it.
When I beg and plead for a slice of L'Industries caliber anywhere else in Lower Manhattan, I am frequently told a few different places but Scarr's always seems to enter the conversation.
After having L'Industrie again yesterday, I thought it was time to try Scarr's for comparison. I worked up an appetite on the mile walk, and could smell the fresh pizza down the block when I was closing in. It smells exactly like what you think of when you think of New York Pizza.
I entered the tiny space and saw the "PizzaMaster" pizza oven which L'Industrie has, so I was JUICED.
I could see the employees hand rolling the dough, spreading the sauce, and sprinkling the cheese on like I imagine Leonardo Davinci touching up the Mona Lisa would look like.
I ordered a slice of cheese ($3.75) and one "Hotboi" which consists of the pepperoni jalapeño with hot honey ($4.75).
After 5 minutes I got my slices and took them to one of the standing counters because I'm a thug.
Tbh, the cheese slice was not the best. It was a little chewy as it had clearly just been reheated and had no hang time. I was shaking my head as if to say "mentioning this next to L'Industrie is like mentioning Paul George in a conversation next to Kobe Bryant." Criminal.
In contrast, the Hotboi slice was FIRE and restored my hope in Scarr's as being elite. Although it still didn't have any hang time and had minimal crunch, the flavor was there. Probably the best slice I've had outside of L'Industrie.
In summation, Scarr's is the Noah Lyles to L'Industries Usain Bolt. Obviously there are levels to this, but Noah Lyles still has a gold medal…
I'm just yapping now, but the fact Portnoy gave L'Industrie a 7.9 is an absolute JOKE. Tells me everything I need to know about the guy.
Maybe the L'Industrie spicy salami slice has just ruined all pizza by the slice for me, idk.
