RUN to Seitan Rising for all of your bakery/cafe/deli needs! I've been here twice, both times getting the Bacon Egg and Cheese, Croissants, Cinnamon Rolls, and Cold Brew.
The BEC is perfection. All of the meats are homemade/cured, and you can taste the difference. The omelette is light and fluffy, and the tomato jam? GENIUS. All on a homemade ciabatta bun. FOR $6!!!! There isn't another vegan cafe in the city that offers such a quality sandwich for an attainable price. For comparison, a certain vegan bakery in Williamsburg sells their BEC for $16.
The croissants are flaky, light, buttery, everything you want from a croissant. Blissful.
The cinnamon roll comes decked out in glitter and dried edible flowers, which makes eating this treat a CELEBRATION! Wonderful depth of flavor, and not cloyingly sweet.
My friend got the toast of the week, and she LOVED it! Beautifully presented, amazing pickled onions, and all for $5?!
The cold brew is strong and refreshing, exactly what you'd find at a specialty coffee shop.
The staff is so welcoming and friendly, you can tell that everyone LOVES what they do. Not to mention the FIRE music playing inside!
The only downside was the small line on a Sunday morning, but that's what happens when you have an amazing business that follows covid protocols by only allowing 2 people in at a time. Seitan Rising is...

Savories: -The hammy was tasty and served hot unlike the wicked which. The hammy definitely would have been more satisfying with Just Egg rather than the tofu, but that would no doubt jack the price up a few bucks at least, so I appreciate a place that has affordably priced vegan sandwhiches, which is uncommon. -The wicked which was unique with that bean spread. Tasty sandwich too. The ceasar wrap - good quiche slice - my first vegan quiche! Impressive BEC - great
Sweets: -The Miso chocolate chip cookie was the star of the show. Great texture and taste. Don't be fooled by the miso, you'd never know it was in there, and apparently it adds a butteryness. Do yourself a favor and have a cold glass of plant milk with this puppy, you won't be disappointed (I had Silk's unsweet soy). cherry sprinkle layer cake - rich and plenty moist. More cherries would be my only note. chocolate croissant - excellent rainbow sprinkles cookie - one of the best cookies I've ever had 10/10 bread pudding - excellent rainbow/gold sprinkled cheesecake - the frosting and breadcrumb cust were 10/10, while the cheesecake filling was just meh 6/10.
Breakfast items served all day. Cool interior too. 100%...

I travel to the city specifically for seitan’s helper, it is worth the two hour trip plus traffic. Everything on the menu is amazing. I recommend EVERYTHING! Every time I make the trip, I make sure to stock up. i usually get the triple threat which is one of my favorites. If you’re unsure what to get an If you’re unsure what to get i recommend building your own sandwich. All the seitan, breads , sauce's and etc are all made from scratch. You can tell a lot of love goes into what they do. Not only is their food amazing but so is their customer service. They are so welcoming and accommodating. I wanted to purchase something for my toddler daughter to eat so I asked if they had a kids menu. They don't have a kids menu but without hesitation made a grilled cheese just for my daughter. I would eat here...
