Everything was fine until me and my lady were leaving and she decided that she wanted a strawberry lemonade to go. We tried to order on the kiosk but she didn’t want ice and that option was unavailable on the kiosk so we went to order at the counter with an employee. As we’re ordering, a white woman comes to the same employee and tells him her order was missing fries. Now, in this instance, the right thing to do would be for him to tell her he will help her once he finishes out transaction which was nearly complete. Instead, he completely leaves us, starts addressing her issue and she never even acknowledges us. I expect white women to do white women things, but was really disappointed in the employee. My lady was upset and didn’t think the establishment deserved more business from us so we just left.
I’m not sure if it is a training issue or just the employee choosing to value the grievances of a white woman over completing a transaction from two Black customers who he was servicing before. It’s really sad that people consistently reward rude and negative behavior. I miss the old Bed Stuy....
Read moreI went to this location for the first time tonight. The store was busy with delivery orders, but hardly no one in the lobby. The store was clean (I must admit). The customer service was terrible - so much so I won't go back. Be clear - I love Shake Shack burgers, but apparently this store doesn't accept cash or care about customer service. If you want to order in-store you must use the kiosks at the front of the store (as I was rudely told) and you MUST use a credit card. You will also need to give them your cellphone number so that they can notify you (via text) when your order is ready. I never got that text... The entire experience was cold and unfriendly. There's prompting on the kiosk asking me after I ordered do I want to tip. Really? What for?
Update as of 8/25/2024: I thought I’d give this place another try only to be disappointed again. They’re posted hours of operation say they close at midnight on Saturday, but when I went there, they were closed at...
Read moreYesterday was my first time.going to this location. All I wanted was a chicken sandwich and cheese fries. I approach the counter to place my order. Before I could order I was asked how I was paying. Because I said card, I was told to order at the kiosk. After asking three times if the card reader attached to the register worked i was finally told yes. I didn't understand what the difference was how I placed my order. After establishing that this was a preference not an actual corporate rule i walked out purchasing nothing. There was no line to hold up. In fact, the only other customer was already dining when I arrived. In the time it took for us to have that unnecessary conversation he could've taken my order and made it. It will be quite some time before i step foot into any Shake Shack. When did customer service...
