I came to pick up an order from this place but had a bottle of water in my hand that I previously bought from the supermarket. So while I was paying for my order, the waiter (Mario, if he gave me his correct name) asked me " what about the water? " I tell him, " oh, I bought it from the supermarket? " then he goes " are you sure?...where's your receipt? " with an unpleasant tone. Then he goes " oh, I was just joking, I saw you walk in with the water, ". First and foremost, that is not a joke. I don't think anyone would take it as a joke neither would anyone make a joke like that. So I talk to the manager, a white woman with a bob. She told me that she spoke to him and it was a misunderstanding...but how was this a misunderstanding? Lol. She then said Mario said he asked me if I wanted my receipt and I took it the wrong way. I wonder why he switched up his story? I asked the manager, why would someone walk in here and pay for their order but are willing to steal water? She then goes "well don't say that because they steal my Christmas decorations all the time, "....???? I don't advise ANYONE to eat or spend their $ at this establishment! Especially if they are black. This is ridiculous. If you've ever had a similar experience at this diner where you felt discriminated against, please speak out against them. None of this is correct & they should be held accountable. I've never felt so disrespected in my life. The manager then asked me, " do you want me to buy you lunch? " like?....LOL. As someone who frequently buys food from this diner, I will NEVER spend my hard earned $...
Read moreCame here for some pizza and asked if I could sit down and eat, the guy said yes and so that’s what I did. Once I sat down, one of the waiters approached me very rudely and unprofessional and asked if I ordered to dine in or to go, I told him the guy serving pizza said I could sit down and eat. Then he asked me again as if I didn’t understand his question, and I told him again I was told I could sit down and eat. He kept raising his voice and said “ you need to follow rules here like everyone else look around , don’t you see ? You need to learn to follow rules” and I just asked him if there was an issue, and informed him the food was paid for. I had never been to this location , mind you I have lived in this neighborhood for many years. I just asked for my pizza to be boxed so I could leave. He brought me to tears, a woman that was seated in one of the tables asked if I was okay, she witnessed this poor customer treatment. Whoever this was, he was very rude, and I addressed that to him and all he had to say was that he worked there for 22 years. As if that justifies the situation.Clearly he is rude, and doesn’t care for the business. First and last time I will go here. Avoid coming here at all costs. I should learn their “rules” but he should learn mannerisms and common decency. I was humiliated, and I still cannot understand why he treated me in such matter. There’s poor management here. If you expect business to last here, employees should treat people keeping your business up with respect. Otherwise you’ll just keep...
Read moreI rate it between 2 and 3 stars. They have an egg sandwich on a roll on the menu, I like 1 egg rather than 2 and dont care to pay the same price. I was getting it for a while but then was told all sandwiches are 2 eggs, 1 egg no longer allowed. Seems ridiculous but thats 1 story for you.
2nd story. Im the reason they have chocolate chip pancakes. When they finally introduced it I ordered it. Only to get back and open my package to see that the choco chips were on top of the pancakes, not inside or even cooked with the pancakes. I nevered ordered them again.
3rd story. This entire neighborhood suffers from bad pizza. They make all these special item pizzas that is not really in high demand so you have a bunch of pizza just sitting around. The regular slices are also not that good. The slices are the equivilant of a dollar slice, but sold at 2.40 per slice. Unless you are starving and stuck in the neighborhood, save your money.
Lastly I got a bagel with cream cheese and it was 2.40. The bagel isnt even of high quality, I mean for that price you might as well go to dunkin donuts for a bagel.
The prices can be a bit crazy. The staff is ok but can be rude depending on the mood and day. This place is honestly here because of the post office next door, the lefrak housing complex that takes up most of the block and the building where the police and others work next door. The heavy traffic and lack of options in close proximity are why this place still exists and business has survived for...
