Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in New York

On this day I went to the store approximately 7:45 pm and notice the drive through was not moving and extremely long lines to I decided to go inside, when getting to the door I was told by a customer that the store was closed but I got let in my a customer walking out. After entering and waiting a half hour to place my order. I order 1 vanilla milkshake, a rainbow slushy with nerds and a Chilli hot dog. The cashier seemed a bit confused on how to use the register and did not understand how to use it so he kept asking for help which is fine. But after checking my receipt I notice he put a blue raspberry slushie and a corn dog. I brought it to his attention he said it was cheaper && he Would let them know to change it. After getting my order I received the corn dog and a slushie with no nerds. I let the girl who handed me the food know that I wanted a chili cheese dog and she changed it with no problem. Now the issue is when I got back into my car I notice it was indeed not a hotdog but I loaded chili cheese fries and the vanilla shake was extremely thick that I believed it was just ice cream blended and my slushy was EXTREMELY sour I could not drink it. I showed up at this location on May 27, 2025, at 7:01 AM. The website and the sign outside both clearly say they open at 7:00 AM. But when I got to the drive-thru, the employee told me they wouldn’t be ready until 7:30 AM.

When I mentioned the sign, she said, “Yeah, we open at 7, but we won’t be ready until 7:30.” That makes no sense. Don’t advertise a 7:00 AM opening if you can’t actually serve customers until half an hour later.

A 5–10 minute delay is understandable. Thirty minutes is not.

To Sonic: When people leave reviews like this, it’s not a joke. It’s feedback meant to help you do better. As a franchise, you need to train your employees better and open on time. No excuses.

Don’t respond with “sorry”—just do better.

Came back to this Sonic again today (05/28/2025) and once again they weren’t open—despite the sign clearly saying they open at 7:00 AM. I arrived at 7:10 AM and the same lady at the drive-thru told me, just like last time, that they don’t open until 7:30 AM. This is ridiculous and unprofessional. My daughter wanted to try the food so I did a pick up order. I ordered a burger cheese fries and a drink everything came up to about $17-18 with tax. You could also pick what time . I was about 10 minutes away so I picked 7:50 pm got there and it was packed with around 10 Uber eats men waiting and about 8 customers waiting. One guy was giving the orders long story short I got there at 7:51 and didn’t get the food until 8:40pm horrible service my daughter said it wasn’t all that. Also I’m guessing the man who was giving the food is the manager he told the girl who was doing the cash register not to take no more orders so she was sitting in the corner doing something on her phone while they was 6 people waiting to order for more than 15 minutes smh she should of been helping with the orders then so they could...
