I came here for a meetup with friends and I left completely underwhelmed. I may be a bit more discerning because my background is hospitality. So if you have a refined palette this is for you because i wish someone told me. We went for brunch and the food and atmosphere was so mediocre. The manager that was outside was rude and left a bad taste in my mouth before I even entered the establishment. Upon entering the establishment around 4pm, the whole place reeked of stale alcohol and sweat(akin to how a club smells at closing time), that was another turnoff. The tables are grouped too close together. Post COVID a lot of restaurants aren’t even doing that so it’s a really tacky out of date practice especially because this place also utilizes 3 outdoor dining spaces! The hookah smoke in an enclosed restaurant was absolutely too much! It was disgusting. The AC was barely working that day so the poor servers were sweating like pigs and so we’re we! I know places do this in a bid to get you to buy more drinks but BE FOR REAL! It summer…fix the AC. I know this is a party brunch spot but the music was ridiculously loud and the server could barely hear us. Now the most important! The food was absolutely disgusting and subpar. The cook(s) and owners should be ashamed. Everyone at my table either hated the food or was for the least disappointed in what they were served. The vegan sausage looks like seasoned TVP and in the age of beyond and impossible breakfast sausage offerings, that’s completely unacceptable. As a cook the first thing you learn to make are mother sauces and eggs…why were my eggs burnt? Like my god..not even the eggs were made right? Then the French toast on the same platter was burnt and I sent it back only for them the remake the French toast and not the eggs. The cook didn’t even move my fork and other little scraps on my plate. They just put the new French toast back on the plate on top of the same old fork and sent back out without replating. After that I just was DONE. There’s much better offerings in the neighborhood if you’re in the mood for Caribbean fare so if you’re looking for actual skill and preparation in the kitchen then this ain’t it. Hopefully they get it together but they may not think it’s a problem because they’re usually crowded. So I would eat elsewhere if you insist on coming for...
Read moreNever again. I was super excited to eat at this restaurant, but unfortunately the mediocre service let me down. Here are my pros. Communication to book was A1, I was able to get in contact with the appropriate person to make the reservation for a party of 7. The restaurant staff called me to confirm a few times, which was great; and they were super friendly as far as making any sort of adjustments that I had when it came to the reservations. However, I did have a few cons, where we were seated had a few flies flying around, and landing on us and our food. Nonetheless, the waitress that we had was nice, but her service was lacking. It was quite difficult at times for anyone from my party to get her attention, I understand she’s busy, but at times we thought she was ignoring us on purpose. We ordered some drinks which were 3 out of 10, and a few appetizers for starters. We ordered the shrimp mac and a plain mac. When both the mac and cheese came out, the cast iron was hot but the mac and cheese were cold. The block cheese that was use to put inside was still a block, and both dishes were absolutely disgusting. The shrimp Mac taste like old fish. The staff saw that we didn’t finish it, but no one came and asked us if we were okay, or how was the food. When we finally got to order our main dish, it was like chasing a dog, took forever to get the waitress attention. I ordered a salmon with the veggies, and I was excited since I was hungry. However when I got the salmon, I was very displeased. Upon cutting it, I notice it had an odd color. One of my parties said “is that purple” and it was. The inside of the salmon was purple. I couldn’t believe it. I order salmon medium-well, all of the time, and I know what it’s suppose to look like in the center. I just couldn’t imagine that, this is what the restaurant would serve. The other dishes that came out were fine, but per my party, the chicken was a bit chewy. I took my food to go, but end up tossing it.
We finally got the check, and I noticed that a $55 gratuity was included, so I confirmed with the waitress that the gratuity was indeed included. She responding “yes but it’s only 18%” I was so dumb founded. Needless to say, I will not...

I had so much fun here!
My friends have been raving about Savvy and their food for a while. I finally got the opportunity for a visit one Saturday evening. Didn't try the food this time. (But I'll be back).
We got there as the hip looking patrons were finishing up their meal and in about twenty minutes, this intimate, sexy, quiet spot was transformed into "Night At The Roxbury" with just the slide of a few tables and chairs.
The DJ kept the tunes coming (he also took our requests very kindly) and other than a couple of folks checking out a BB match on their large screen, everyone was moving to the beats as we sipped.
Drinks were very reasonably priced. VERY. I'm afraid to use the term cheap in case the owners read this review and up the price... chit, I just did didn't I? Smh.
Feel free to bring your little ones to lunch, brunch etc because even though it's only one stall, it's large and equipped with nappy changing table, cute. (There's something wrong with the door latch though. I hope they fix that soon. I had to pee in the dark because I was afraid someone would walk in on me).
Savvy is located next door to a few other spots so make sure you look for some wings and other awesome artwork on their wall else you could easily walk into the wrong space.
My recommendation for a super chill OR pumped up evening goes to Savvy!
I. Will. Be. Back!!!
"What is love? BABY DON'T HURT ME, DON'T HURT ME NO MO'...!"
The End.
U P D A T E!: Since writing and posting my above review to another online forum (forgot my trusted old Google). I'm pleased to say Savvy's is still 100 in my book! *I've since tried their food (many different dishes and they've all been amazing except for one particular dish/dip which I found to be a tad too salty. BUT, I don't eat salt so don't hold that against them. *The toilet door has been fixed. In fact I returned ONE week after posting my review and it had already been taken care of! *Also available for private parties!
Savvy's has been going through some changes. Each time I go it gets better and better and even BETTER! How is this...
