A quite special fusion Omakase, the service is also great! However, I personally would recommend people who want to try here out for new and fusion Omakase, but not to the ones who want traditional Japanese Omakase with quiet vibe.
Tried out the $128 set with 17 dishes. The highlight here is the chefs would combine several ingredients together in Sushi and Sashimi. They would also introduce all the ingredients and are super friendly. The combination is special and might be loved by fusion cuisine lovers, but PERSONALLY I am not really a big fan of them 😅 I would recommend Scallop, Uni and Soft shell crab the most within all 17 dishes. However, I personally think the sushi here is rather a mini sushi, and the sushi rice itself is a bit too warm and loose. Most of the fish are fairly fresh, but personally I think some of them are also a bit too warm and not that fresh 😅
The vibe here is really different from a regular Omakase restaurant. The vibe is more as a Izakaya rather than an Omakase restaurant. I am not sure who is sitting in the table area rather than the counter, but it was really quite noisy, which makes the experience more as an Izakaya 😅
As of my personal opinion, the food here overall is Ok but a bit pricey. The service is really good but the vibe isn’t something I expected 😅
I would only recommend fusion Japanese Omakase lovers with lively vibe to give here a try, you might get surprised on how they combine French cuisine ingredients with Japanese sushi. For traditional Japanese Omakase lovers, you might can re-consider...
Read moreFirst omakase experience and I loved it! Totally worth it to come back for the food and service. I'm removing one star for "atmosphere" because the place is quite small, almost crowded near the entrance and restroom, and there is no seating area for you to wait in (despite the instructions to arrive early). Otherwise, very lovely experience.
I had a seat along the bar (which I highly recommend unless you want a more intimate experience with your dinner party). I didn't think I could manage 17 courses, it felt like far too much food...but after spying on my neighbor's extra plates, I couldn't help myself from "upgrading" to the premium option, which the waitstaff was happy to accommodate, aha. Definitely worth it to get those premium extra dishes because they were just so delightful. Each piece of nigiri had the perfect balance of clean, bright flavors against creamy, funky, fragrant flavors. Our chef was super open to answering our questions about ingredients, and brought great joy to both patrons and staff with jokes about what dehydrated wagyu fat might be compared to (since it's a lovely fine white powder...). The camaraderie among the chefs and waitstaff made me feel welcomed, even entertained. The delicious food made me think of all the seafood lovers in my life, and whether I could afford to bring them to Sushi Blossoms in...
