I wasted significant amount of time with their order for delivery system, postmate. Postmate confirmed my order placement, but there was no progression. I called the restaurant to ask my order, which they didn’t have. I didn’t have time to research another place because my guest would come anytime soon. I was asked to contact postmate, but there is no human contact for any issue. It is a long story and I don’t want to remind all over again, but you should keep in mind that their system (sush seki) seems not working sometime.

I think they serve aged sushi, but taste totally different from Japanese one. If you expect any delicate melting taste of Japanese sushi, forget about this place.

Price was not bad, but their crappy packing embarrassed my hand and costed me for dry cleaning and big tip for the driver. Cheap plastic food containers in the brown back and very dirty plastic bag. The dirty looking thinnest plastic bag was heavily smelled with fish. It is not exaggerating, It filled up the taxi with disgusting fish smell and I almost vomited. I still feel disgust, reminding the smell.

Overall opinion in short, I...

FOOD IS EDIBLE, SERVICE INEDIBLE. Friday evening, December 4th, 2020, tragically, our favorite neighborhood sushi joint Hana was shuttered by the pandemic, so we gave Sushi Seki a whirl. The overall final impression turned out to be: Pricey Sushi Joint. Kind of fancy. Kind of not thrilled by anybody without an Amex Centurion Card. How was the food? The noodles in my soup, judging by taste and texture, were mass produced and had that flat, stale taste of preserved food. The Tempura was fine (almost as good as my little bro cooks at home). And the fish in the Sushi was very chilled (not to be a cynic, but it was highly iced in preparation and served outdoors in circa 51F air) but did not taste like it had turned rotten at all. Service? Let's skip the details: it's the High Rent Manhattan Restaurant Game, Pandemic Version, plates efficiently whisked away, robbing diners of the opportunity to savor their semi-thawed fish. Their meter is...

Decor: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5

Casual setting. We were greeted immediately and they were family friendly. They offered to take our stroller and set it aside. They even had a booster chair for our 3 year old. Service was top notch here and much appreciated.

Food came out fairly quickly. My favorite was the otoro (fatty tuna) paired with fresh wasabi (which is hard to find). Absolutely mind-blowing delicious. That was the highlight of the meal. At $14 per otoro piece, it can be hard to swallow for some. The other items we ordered were eel roll, uni, tamago, soft shell crab roll and black miso chilean sea bass.

I gave the food a 4 out of 5 because the black miso chilean sea bass was unlike all the other black miso chilean sea bass I've had. It was more a black bean chilean sea bass which I was not happy with. It was the least appetizing dish...

Tried the hyped spot @sushiseki in Chelsea 🍣 🍱 I’ve heard sooo much about this spot so I had to try it for myself. The Spicy Tuna crispy rice was delicious 🤤 but at $9 for one bite ?!? a bit steep 💰 The Seki Special for $59 was definitely yummy. It comes with a shrimp tempura roll but I swapped it for spicy tuna (obvious choice) 🍣 All of the nigiri were quite tasty and I enjoyed how they were all garnished differently. Toro was standout👌🏼& not pictured but you must order the $3 spicy mayo because it has Tobiko in it 😅 Overall I enjoyed my meal here and rate it 7/10 - for the price it is not life changing but definitely satisfying, has some unique pieces and great quality 👌🏼 #nycsushi #sushinyc #sushiseki #newyorksushi #chelseanyc #nycfood #nycfoodied #nycrestaurants #sushilover

As a first impression, overall it was decent, but I expected a bit more from a restaurant with four dollar signs. We got the Seki Special Sushi (~$49), and though the combination of different types of sauce and fish seemed creative (slice of tomato on salmon, tofu sauce on tuna, etc), the sauces overpowered the fish, and the fish itself was a little flavorless (the mackerel was missing the mackerel taste, the salmon was missing the salmon taste, etc). Our favorite out of the 9 selection of sushi was the eggplant lol. I'm not sure if the omakase (market price, $100+) is better, but if it's anything similar to what we ordered, I'm not too sure it would be worth it.

Just an amazing experience of taste and fragrance and utter delight. The savory mix of the dishes with the brine of the ocean and the sweetness of the rice. It was a choreographed dance of flavors and textures. Tony always produces the best and the freshest and the cleanest. A must do! Enjoy it as I did! Another amazing night of this dance r of food for my birthday to be shared with the loving kindness of friends.
