Westside Market NYC — Local services in New York

As a regular customer who frequently visits this supermarket, I recently had an experience that left me quite disappointed. Tonight I came in looking for something specific, the item was sold out so I decided to leave the store.

However, what unfolded next truly tainted my perception of this place. To my shock and embarrassment, as I was exiting the premises, two employees began following and shouting and at me in front of everyone down the street , accusing me of stealing the practically empty water bottle I had in my hand. I let them know that this bottle was mine and said that this is ridiculous since they see me frequently. I was taken aback by the lack of an apology.

Being accused of theft and subjected to a public spectacle is not how any customer should be treated. It's astonishing that such a situation escalated over a water bottle, especially considering my regular status as a customer.

I trust that the management will take this incident seriously and address the conduct of their staff. Given this unfortunate episode, I find myself reevaluating whether I'll continue to choose this supermarket...

Way too everything! Too cramped, too small, too expensive, too little selection, even too dark. Just what the hood needs - another "gourmet" supermarket. Ah, for the not so good old days of the "A and P" "Grand Union" and "Associated." How did we live before Whole Paycheck, notsoFairway, Gristedes, Critterella... Are there really that many upper middle classs/lower upper class/just hanging into the 3%, with no taste, too much money,too many mannys, housekeepers, maids and cooks? Why don't they just call out for food like the good old days and leave the supermarkets for us hoi polloi? Do I sound bitter? What's to be bitter about - at least they aren't CVS, RiteAide, Duane- Reade, or a Bank? And now the tourists don't have to go all the way to...

The have my favorite coconut yogurt! Plus kombucha and a whole array of prepared salads and entrees as well as precut fruits and mixed fruit cups and many other delicacies. Clean spacious and well displayed. UPDATED: after tasting the two salads, I cut there. I wouldn’t purchase other prepared foods. They weren’t for me. The elephant beans salad had far too much vinegar for my taste.. the tofu grilled vegetables and spinach salad was fried tofu that was very tough. Grilled tofu saves beautifully but if you fry tofu and put it in plastic and refrigerate it, it just gets tough and unappetizing. Everything I had quite a bit of oil in it too so it was a bit...
