I have to start this review by saying that I have been anticipating coming to Sweet Fire for weeks, especially learning that the space is Black-Caribbean-Woman owned. Travelled over an hour, to start my birthday weekend at the space. Imagine my surprise and sadness when upon opening the door to the space, being “greeted” by the barista who looked at me in disgust and grumbled “hi”.
My friend walks in behind me, no greeting. She grumbles that she’ll be with us in a couple of minutes. I’m telling my friend about all the great drinks that I’ve been seeing on social media and also kind of put off by that initial reaction. As I’m checking out the menu, the barista grumbles out “are yall ready to order?” to which I begin to reply “not yet, I’m still checking out the menu”. Before the sentence can fully leave my mouth, she says okay with that same ‘i dont want to be bothered’ attitude and walks off.
I debated staying because I genuinely travelled JUST to come here. But that energy and interaction was so off-putting that I ultimately decided to leave. Read moreRun don't walk to Sweet Fire! It's exactly the gem that Brooklyn needed. For starters; I'm not a matcha girlie at all; and the owner 100% changed my mind on that. She was extremely knowledgeable on how exactly they make their drinks from scratch and the ingredients and love that goes into making each one of them. You can tell alot of thought and care goes into each thing on the menu.
I came for cinnamon rolls but ended up getting an amazing savory breakfast pastry treat instead and loved it! The chef who also co owns makes the most tasty treats. Upon walking in I was greeted with such love and care and the whole atmosphere is just good for the soul. Fave comfort place to go if you need a nice little pick me up! Will absolutely...
Read moreWhat a lovely vegan coffee shop we found today! The cinnamon roll and breakfast buns are made fresh and were delish! Highly recommend! The vibes inside are very cool, decor was cute & it would make a nice place to post up and work, if that was the kind of work I did. We got the matcha with pistachio milk and they were definitely sweet, so if you’re not into sweet drinks, be sure to ask for no sweetener added! I’m a strawberry matcha fiend, but the strawberry wasn’t personally my fave. I prefer a homemade puree but alas, I will get a regular matcha next time! One of the owners was there and was so sweet and helpful and friendly! Great way to start the...
