We had an excellent dinner here on Aug 31, 7pm (Thursday night). The hostess found our reservation quickly and she warmly welcomed us and led straight to the table of our choice. At that time and throughout evening it was about 40% full. Noise level excellent. Elegant and calm room. Tables well spaced. The lighting was flattering. The waitperson Thomas quickly brought us menus and offered us a complimentary glass of wine. There was a bar in the right hand side about midway through restaurant. Thomas gave us plenty of time to look over the interesting menu. He then answered our questions and after tasting some of his recommendations I think he was quite accurate. Several staff assts helped to serve and they did it very well. We ordered a lot of different dishes and I’m so glad we did because now we know some of our favorites. The table for two next to us got the full Peking duck - it’s quite elaborate. I asked her discreetly how it was - she mouthed the words excellent! We ordered it after Thomas agreed. We also had chicken fried wantons, curry shrimp w vegetables, house salad, Rock shrimp tempura, and my favorite, the crispy beef. These were all the best I’ve had including Peking duck. We had plain white rice for sopping up some of the terrific sauces. I recommend you order appetizer types dishes first then put on order for rest bc the tables, while large would not have been able to hold all of this at once except for fact we were three not a party of four. We skipped dessert after such a big meal (portions were substantial) but they looked interesting. Next time we won’t go so overboard. Although we will definitely try the bacon fried, and the lobster dish. The chef has a light and sophisticated hand. This place is a gem and at about $75 per person including gratuity it was well worth it. I hope you enjoy as much...
Read moreWow!!! Where do I start? The hostess, the entire waiting staff.. each and every one of them- awesome! Ahead of you every step of the way. Incredibly professional. The food and presentation..nothing short of outstanding. Best margarita I've had, by the way. The shrimp balls are a must try! The hot and sour soup, fried rice, Peking duck OMG you will be blown away by all of it! Don't skip the cheese cake! The decor- simple and elegant. Every detail thought out. Bravo to all! Definitely on my favorite list!!
Revisited 9/25! This time around I tried the ribs, and they were absolutely outrageous—so delicious! I also had the tiger prawn satay again, and the sauce it comes with is just extraordinary. The barbecue lo mein was fantastic, and the hot & sour soup remains the best I’ve ever had, hands down. The lychee shrimp balls are always a hit. On top of the incredible food, the staff is consistently excellent, which makes every visit a pleasure. Tang by Mr. Sun never...
Read moreWe had three main problems with our meal:
1.) We made a Saturday night reservation at 7 p.m. Despite the fact that every section open was and there were plenty of two-tops available, we (a childless couple in our 30s) were seated close to a family with two young toddlers who were incredibly noisy the whole meal. This was pretty disappointing considering the average cost per plate is around $30-40.
2.) The food was not good, especially considering the price point. The Peking duck was average, but the soup dumplings were dry and oddly flavored and the creamy crab udon was extremely fishy.
3.) As terrible as I feel saying this, the service was notably bad. Every dish we ordered was brought to us at the same time, crowding the table to the point that it became difficult to eat. One server spilled almost an entire bottle of beer over my husband but told us that they wouldn’t charge us for it almost like they were doing us a favor.
Overall, a...
