Tanoshi Ramen is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon something special — not just because of the food, but because of the people. We first visited last year and were immediately struck by how kind and welcoming the team was. There’s a warmth to this spot that makes you want to keep coming back — and the food absolutely seals the deal. The ramen is phenomenal. You can tell it’s homemade — rich, soulful, and made with love. My husband is obsessed with the Spicy TanTan Ramen (he’s had it more than once!), and I always go for the Spicy Tonkotsu. Both are deeply flavorful and comforting, with the TanTan especially reminding us of great Sichuan flavors. But the real surprise star? The wings. Quite possibly the best wings we’ve had in NYC — juicy, perfectly seasoned, flavorful without being over-the-top. They’re unforgettable in the simplest, best way. (I admit I have ordered just the wings via delivery because that’s what I was craving and they are THAT good!) Tanoshi is one of those rare spots that feels both homey and special. We’re lucky to have it.

The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They prepare Japanese cuisine and the menu is limited to ramen bowl entrees, appetizers and beverages. I ordered the miso ramen bowl which is made with pork bone miso broth, yellow curly noodles, cabbage, corn, scallion, egg and roasted pork. The chicken bone ramen is made with chicken broth, sesame garlic base, white thin noodles, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, scallion, egg and steamed chicken. The ramen bowls contained no bones. Both bowls were very good and a nice portion. The shrimp bun appetizer is made with coconut shrimp, pickled onion, cabbage and mayonnaise. It was good but small. The takoyaki appetizer is a deep fried wheat cake with octopus, scallion and bonito flake. The crispy brussel sprouts appetizer is fried with jalapeno peppers, peanuts and fish sauce. This appetizer is spicy. Friendly and helpful staff.

Love that they have a smaller, more curated menu because that's how you know they've perfected and are confident in everything they offer. I recently went with my husband and brother, and we shared a takoyaki (which was as good as we remember from Osaka!) and we each ordered different ramens to try. I had the spicy miso (photo attached) and it was absolutely delicious. Hands down the best ramen I've had in a long time. My family enjoyed their ramen as well. The waitress (I think she's the owner?) was also so sweet, friendly and very attentive the entire time we were there. I rarely take the time to write reviews but this restaurant totally deserves it. Already looking forward to going again! Highly recommend!

Nestled in Brooklyn's Bay Ridge, this Japanese eatery offers a focused menu centered around satisfying ramen bowls, complemented by a few appetizers and drinks. We indulged in two excellent ramen options. The tonkotsu ramen was a rich and deeply flavorful experience, featuring a creamy pork bone broth that was truly satisfying. The chicken bone broth ramen, elevated by a top-notch black garlic oil, offered a more nuanced and aromatic profile that was equally delicious. Both bowls were brimming with generous portions of noodles and toppings, including perfectly cooked eggs and tender meats (roasted pork in the tonkotsu and steamed chicken in the chicken bone). Despite their names, neither bowl contained any bones, just pure ramen goodness.

The standout appetizer, however, was undoubtedly the purple yam fries. These were simply delicious, their natural sweetness elevated by a wonderfully spicy mayonnaise dipping sauce. Overall, this restaurant provides a solid and enjoyable ramen experience in Bay Ridge, with the black garlic oil in the chicken bone broth ramen being a particular highlight and the purple yam fries...

tanoshii is a great little ramen spot in the heart of 5th ave.

stopped here to get a quick dinner and ended up grabbing a veggie Miso ramen and beef gyoza.

the food was really good! the atmosphere and presentation of this place is very asian and i like that vibe when deciding to eat ramen. the service is also excellent, our waitress was very attentive to our table.

the gyoza came out first and i think it was the better part of the meal. the dumplings were fried to almost perfection and the filling of meats and veggies inside was perfect.

i scarfed them down without a thought.

the ramen was also really good, but ny only issue was the triangles in the ramen were empty. seemed strange as i thought there should have been tofu inside, but the rest of the soup was good.

my ramen bowl came with bok choi, noodles, the triangles, abd a few other random veggies.

would come back and maybe try...
