New in the Rego Park hood. Reviews looked great so let's go. Decor was iiight but I wasn't here for that. Prices were a lil higher than I like to pay, but $21 dishes don't scare me.
Appetizers: Mixed Cold app platter and pan fried mussels (on a stick). Cold ppl platter was daaaank. Baba ghanoush was bangin. Tzatziki sauce was insane. Hummus was great. Spicy sauce was on point. Spinach was nice (for cold spin lol). Tomato sauce mixture on the outstanding bread was like a delicious pizza. Don't know what it all was called, but it was all awesome. Mussels tasted like they plucked em right out of the sea.
Dinner: Me and bae ordered the surf and turf. Delicious char grilled lamb chops and succulent shrimp kebabs over rice and mixed veggies. Grade A stuff.
Homies ordered the chicken Adana kebab. Basically chicken mixed with red peppers and spices stuffed onto kebabs. The review? Superb.
Mixed grill: Lamb chops, lamb meatballs and lamb Adana. Review? It was great. #CleanPlateClub ...of course it was amazing!
Drinks: Get the Turkish beer - Efes. I always try new beers when I go out. This was a great decision. It's not too light, but far from dark. I loved it. The ladies had the white wine Terra Blanc and had no complaints.
We'll be back (especially with their dope 7% cash back Yelp deal) and insanely close proximity.
Tatiana was amazing BTW!!! Outstanding knowledge of the menu. Profesional and courteous all night then hooked the squad up with complimentary baklava! Maybe the best pistachio baklava I've ever had, no lie. Pray you get her...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant today and I left disappointed. I ordered chicken shish kebab and I brought a plate with chicken and vegetables. 1/3 of the plate was occupied by onions. The ordinary bow, which was not even marinated. 1/3 of raw grated carrots, are you serious? 1/3 took cabbage with vinegar and it was delicious, I ate it with great pleasure. The chicken was super dry and it was impossible to eat it. I refused the dish, but the staff did not even apologize for it and instead of apologizing said they would cook another, but I asked for the menu and it was never brought. I had to ask twice. The tea was horrible, the usual tea from a pack that was produced in Turkey. But in Turkey so tasty tea with herbs! And before ordering, I asked whether this tea with Turkish herbs or not, in the end brought the usual black. It's terrible. The desserts were not fresh. Either this is not a Turkish restaurant, or the owners have not been in Turkey for a long time. But my husband ordered Dorado on the grill and he liked it. One star for the fish, everything else...
Read moreFantastic neighborhood Turkish spot! Been here several times and always have an amazing time! Ambience is clean, open and bright with tasteful minimalist decor. Service is always spot on and personable here regardless if they are busy or not.
Must orders here are the several varieties of fish, but for those who eat Americanized fish, they take the head and tail off but the fish fillets are not your perfectly squared of pieces. The fish is grilled to perfection and simply served with a side of either grilled veggie, yummy pilaf rice or French fries. The octopus stew is the most buttery and tender octopus you'll ever have and who can not forget their kabob selections whether you do the chicken or lamb! Stick with the mix grill plate for both though so you get to try a selection of them all. End the night with some hot Turkish black tea or string Turkish coffee with a sweet piece of baklavah or a digestive night cap of Raki mixed with a little water and you are good to go! Can't wait for my next...
