I rarely review a place with something like 2 stars, but this was such a disappointing experience. Dram has a lot of TVs, indoor and outdoor, you can see that from all photos. A group of 8 of us arrived on a Sunday afternoon to watch a WNBA playoff game together & eat and drink (on ESPN, nothing hard to find) and when we asked at the bar if we could change a TV outside (on a chilly, rainy day!) to the WNBA game, they had a bad attitude about it. They still did it, but made us all feel as though it was such an inconvenience. Later, one in our group asked to get a second TV outside set to the US Womenâs National soccer team to see Megan Rapinoeâs last game. She was told rudely that he had already changed one TV and all others were set for âfootball Sundayâ and that guys at the bar were already giving him a terrible time for having changed the one channel. There are so many ways to say no politely, but he basically said âIâm prioritizing the opinion of these guys who are being a-holes to me and my coworkers, over you all (paying customers) because you want to watch womenâs sports instead of footballâ. I get that customers can be rude, and staff shouldnât have to deal with that. However, we were being so polite, and got told to basically be happy we could watch any womenâs sports at all. If you donât want to accommodate womenâs sports fans, put a notice somewhere visible that says âFOOTBALL ONLYâ on Sundays or something⌠so we donât waste time and money on a business that isnât willing to accommodate requests. Itâs bad business, and backwards. Fries were good!...
Read moreDram Shop is one of the better Irish pubs I've been to in Brooklyn. Really it's just a great neighborhood bar. It's very narrow with the bar taking up the majority of the right side. Bartenders can be a little swamped sometimes but they've always been friendly. Beer selection is above average for an Irish pub given that it's located in craft beer-heavy Park Slope; nothing heavy duty but you can reliable beers like Bell's Two Hearted fresh. The place packs out for big sports games but that adds to the atmosphere; people tend to be very friendly here so I consider that a plus. People rave about the burger here, but I'm fond of the chili. It is thick, meaty, and spicy without being overwhelmingly so. The Fritos that come with it are clutch, allowing you to make your own Frito pie if you wish (this is a massive plus with me). The crackers that come with it too just confuse me. Either way, it is serious chili even if it doesn't include beans. People speak well of the food here across the board, and it's especially awesome that it's also available late (came here once for food at 2am). Generally Dram Shop is a good all purpose bar that you'll wish you had in your...
Read moreI heard about this place from a fellow pool player. So, I checked it out. I love the ambience of the place, and I love seeing lots of wood: wood tables, wood chairs, wood floorâ¤ď¸ And the lay out of the place is perfect for its pool table room, the booths, the bar area, and the sitting table area with 3 TVs. And they have tables, too, in their backyard. And the food is goodđ The staffs are so warm and friendly and serves the patrons with diligenceđ I'll definitely come to this place againđ The rule of using their pool is, write down your name to the tiny board affixed on the wall, next to the cue sticks rack. Then, once it's your turn, you will put 4 quarters to let the ball out, then, you will play the last winner. Once you win the game, whoever is next to the list will play you, you don't need to put coins to release the balls. You will keep playing without putting another coin as long as you keep...
