Step up from the last place however still falls short of an UWS experience. Food was cold. Drinks have so little alcohol it’s pathetic. Great place to watch a game if you enjoy sub par food and watered down drinks. Feel bad for the servers as corporate has created a no win situation for the restaurant. If you enjoy overpaying for sub standard food and watered down drinks this is the restaurant for you. There are so many other lovely restaurants than this god forsaken location who’s soul intention is to separate you from your cash and offer you substandard food and don’t complain the managers some clown and Sara or Sean who replaced fry’s only lol don’t care what you think if the burgers cold. Can’t see them lasting with their arrogance and the paying patron will never matter. Ever. Nice looking place however run and run fast there are so many other restaurant locations nearby who’ll treat you as if your business matters. From my families perspective they fall short big time. So long Wolfe. Putting you and your despicable cold food and arrogance in or rear view mirror. Work to hard to spend our money where our business means absolutely nothing to these arrogant shysters.

We’ve spent over $2500 since they opened (tipped 25-30% (yeah we’re fools) and our family counted 6 or 7 buy back beers in total lol. Think they can spare it lol. Just know your loyalty and patronage mean nothing there. Also heard the tall bartender confiding to a customer that they just graduated from bartending school and he’ll make you a $15 margarita if you like with ice jammed into the glass you have to remove to sip. We feel 6 of their $15 drinks have the same alcohol content as 2-3 frozen margaritas. Light can’t begin to describe them. Best part of the UWS location is it’s close to Made in NY Pizza so after your sub par over priced dining experience grab a slice since you’ll still be hungry. The smash burger is a little larger than a double White Castle burger with salted fries that are atrociously horrible and don’t you dare complain their managers in fear of their jobs and awful at it with all the turnover seriously don’t care. Again nice looking place but one horrible dinning experience. Sincerely wanted to report a better restaurant experience however can’t and it starts at the top and we overheard many patrons complain that fell on managements deaf ears. You work too hard to be taken advantage of. Push back.

It seems management can delete posts or has a hook that can. Free speech. If the truth is painful so be it. If it’s deleted again, it will reappear daily with a few more reviews from our neighbors we foolishly recommended this place to. Again if the truth hurts change it Wolfe or fall by the wayside of the 2 others restaurants prior. Good...

I am going to have a lot to say so bear with me.

  1. Ambiance - nice! Very nice happening vibe. Louder in the main room but the back private dining space is perfect if you want a separate space.

  2. Food - tastes great for a bar restaurant but the wait was very long and our expectations were not managed. We did not come here for drinks. That seems to be “the move” of most of the customers. Not sure if this was a one off with the slow food service but it is tough if you come in hungry and ready to eat a meal. The main dishes were also skimpy. The cauliflower steak was very little cauliflower for $24 plate. It was sad. But delicious. The ahi tuna main also delicious but like put a proper side or something with it please aside from avocado. It’s not a full plate. 😔

  3. Service - poor. Maybe it was a one off but it was not professional. This was related to the food being slow but also very little was communicated to us. It would have been nice if the server told us ahead of our meal “hey just a heads up the kitchen is super slow - I want you to know that before you order and get comfortable.” I could see him looking at our table to see if our food arrived or not and maybe he would go and talk to the kitchen. But more communication to us would have gone a long way. I tipped low because of our experience on the service, and noticed the server give me a look when leaving instead of smiling and saying I.e. “thank you guys! Sorry it was slow tonight hope you come in again and we can make it up to you.” Little care and attention and the end did not feel welcoming.

The short of it is come for drinks assuming they are good - I can’t speak to that - and a lively ambience - sit in the back for quieter or the main room if you don’t mind the extra...

We tried the double smash burger and the spicy UWS smashed plant burger. The double smash burger had perfectly balanced flavors. The vegan burger had a good spicy kick to it but the rest wasn’t as appealing. I personally prefer vegan patties made of grains and veges, but this was a soy patty. I should’ve checked beforehand, so that’s on me. The vegan burger bun was also gluten free and extra points for accessibility, but it was kind of a crumbly bun - which might be the norm with gluten free buns. It was definitely a new experience for me. The portion sizes were good and the shoestring fries that came with the plate were decent. I loved the service, just the right amount of attention and care was provided, nothing over the top. Just a person doing their job, and going about their way. The atmosphere was electric because the soccer game was playing. People were cheering simultaneously for team USA (the COPA America match). I knocked off a star simply for the average vegan burger, I wish they would that one a little better. All in all, a solid place to grab a bite on a...

@thewolfe.nyc by @stoutgroup : the newest addition to the best area to enjoy Fall in Manhattan, The Upper West Side. Right next to Central Park and the cutest of cafes, The Wolfe serves as the perfect setting for a comfortable yet chic meal. Our visit to The Wolfe was a continuously pleasant surprise. We were amazed at how fresh the space felt upon entering and delighted by the presentation, quality, and taste of the food. We soon realized we weren’t the only ones who approved — We overheard a nearby table of new customers continuously expressing their satisfaction with the food, service, and excitement about spending the rest of their fall happy hours and sports watching here — and we agree.
