I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Staples branch located on the Upper West Side this past month. I felt compelled to write this as my first review to express my frustration and dissatisfaction with the service I received, particularly due to the actions of the manager, Maribel.
Upon waiting to checking out the one item that I bought at the store, I was called on by a Maribel in line, who then insisted I download the Staples app for exclusive deals. I politely declined at first, but she continued to push the issue, promising that I would benefit from it. Reluctantly, I agreed to download the app, thinking it would be a quick process. Little did I know what awaited me.
I spent over an hour waiting in line, attempting to get the app to work on my device, as Maribel assured me there were fantastic deals waiting for me. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I ended up with no deals at all. This not only wasted my time but also left me feeling frustrated and misled.
To make matters worse, the store's air conditioning was non-existent or malfunctioning, making the already uncomfortable situation even more unbearable. I was sweating profusely and feeling extremely uncomfortable throughout my visit.
Additionally, the way she talked to her staff was insanely rude. The store was understaffed, hence why she was probably working at the register. These kids looked to be teenagers, and to be fair they were trying their best, but during my hour standing in line waiting to finally be done with this app download, I witnessed her disrespectfully address some of these kids over her walkie-talkie, or just by straight up yelling at them across the store. Poor kids, working in the heat probably for a minimum wage salary, and then they have to deal with this manager from H*.
After enduring the lengthy ordeal with the app, I asked a store employee if I could use the restroom, hoping to find some relief. To my dismay, I was informed that there was no restroom available for customers. This lack of basic facilities is simply unacceptable and adds to the already unpleasant experience.
I urge Staples to address these issues promptly to ensure that other customers do not have to endure such a frustrating and unpleasant experience. Customer service and basic amenities should be a top priority for any business, and it is clear that this branch has fallen short in...
Read moreRecently I had quite a large printing job to be done, - {three very thick three-ring-binder books.} The employee Dijon Virgo, helped me set up the whole project. He was terrific: detailed, kind, informed and very professional. The job was involved, - and somewhat expensive considering the various segments included. Also, the whole computer file had to be transferred to a computer "stick." Happily, an employees in the store was able to do the transference exactly when it was needed. The employee was also extremely patient and accommodating, more especially considering the fact that I had to have half the material transferred twice as a result of my own mistake. The job was done perfectly, - but... there were no holes punches! I was crest fallen. Time was of the essence. I had a definite timeline. The options were to do the whole job over again, -- do the hole punching myself, - or have the staff punch the holes when they had time. {Their work-load of very specific customer due dates is very large.} If they did the hole punching, there would need to be several days, at least for the job. Fortunately The Manger, Guelmi Mora, came to our attention and concern immediately. He was able to orchestrate his staff so that the particular details could be taken care of, and the ring-binders could be done in time. He personally did some of the punching, and I was given a date to pick up the completed job. As it turned out, it was ready earlier than expected, - and done impeccably. The paper they used was of highest quality, and all papers were in the order requested, and packed perfectly. The other employees were also most generous and helpful. They were Andrew, and Eileen. Yes it took a village, - but it got done, - and better than I even expected. It could have been a disaster. But my need was met because of the compassion and diligence of the print staff. I could not be more grateful. Susan S....
Read moreI ordered 250 business cards using my own design. My first time ordering them from Staples. I needed them for networking event. First, I did not like the process of having to order them online only. Second, Staples did not print them true to color. The design I gave them did not match the cards I was handed. They printed out too dark and not colors I wanted. Third, I ran into Staples General Manager Joanna Pena at the networking event I needed the cards for, incidentally. I shared with her my issues with the printing job. She asked me what store, I told her, then she handed me her card, and told me to email her to have the 250 business cards I paid for printed correctly. I showed her the business card and she agreed the colors did not match my design. Person in store tried telling me that maybe my monitor did not display the colors as-is. I reject this because I paid for the design and it looks the same on every device. In conclusion, the General Manager promised me correction at in-person b2b networking event but has not responded to my email in 3 months. No correction, no refund, no reprints. I will be going elsewhere for my custom printing needs. I have tried handing out the business cards I paid for but people tell me they can't read it and I am stuck...
