Went here for dinner and would definitely recommend.
Upon entering Tia Eli's there was a vibrant atmosphere. We loved the music and the walls were painted with a beautiful mural. The staff were so kind and welcoming, made us feel right at home :)
We were blown away by how fresh and flavorful all of the food was! To drink we had horchata and coffee. The horchata was very rich and a large portion - not watered down and well worth the price. The coffee was freshly made and hot - it came in the CUTEST mug, To start we ordered chips and guacamole. The chips were freshly made, they were so crisp and light - loved em! The guacamole was made to order and was so freakin delicious!
We also ordered the large tacos. The tacos were on freshly made corn tortillas and came with a spicy salsa as well as a vibrant salsa verde. We tried pollo, al pastor and birria tacos. The pollo was very tender and flavorful. The al pastor was a PERFECT mix of tangy and smoky - cooked to perfection! The birria taco is worth all of the hype! It has a crisp outer tortilla and a soft inner tortilla, with cheese melted in between. Then there was more cheese and birria in the taco - a truly insanely delicious taco!!! We also ordered some rice and beans on the side - the beans were soooo yummy and the rice was pretty solid.
If you are in the neighborhood come check it out, you will not regret it! I will be...
Read moreScrumptious, fresh food, clean and comfortable dining area, and friendly service. I wandered into Tia Eli's on my lunch break and was not expecting such a great experience. I had 3 soft tacos (beef, chorizo, and vegetable) that came with a crunchy garnish of fresh radish and cucumber. The meat was well seasoned and the vegetables were freshly chopped and cooked (not sitting in a warming dish or old). It's quite nice to find a small restaurant that puts attention to detail in the food - without putting emphasis on the price. Affordable food? Bless their hearts. I learned after finishing lunch that this is a new family place. Parents cooking and kids working - all locals. A true labor of love which is apparent in the plates served. I am looking forward to trying a quesadilla (the moms hand-made tortillas!) and grabbing some tamales to take home.its important to support honest, fresh, local businesses - and this one is one...
Read moreIf you want a tasty chicken burrito with no chicken in it.This is the place for you!.. I bought a chicken burrito, started eating it and realized there was practically no chicken in it, then poured it out on the plate. There was barely a shot glass full of tiny little shredded pieces of chicken. I paid thirteen dollars for rice and a few beans. The burrito tasted fine. My problem is paying $13 and getting no chicken. I have no problem paying $13... I usually pay fifteen dollars, but I was at work and couldn't get to my usual spot. I don't mind paying fifteen dollars for a burrito that is...
