I didn’t know what to expect. Went on a friends suggestion after they decided to skip the Chinese spot across the street and opted for something outside the box that we don’t usually look to eat. I like that their menu is digital (old gen iPad minis) but their menu don’t explain much so with the help of google I decided on the lamb saag which is curry lamb in a puréed spinach sauce seasoned to perfection. You also get a choice of bread like naan or roti. I can’t recall the name but my friend had the chicken in a red sauce with peppers, onions and green chilis. I sampled some and it had the right amount kick to it. Somewhat more spice than what I had. Think one chili pepper. Mine I would say was like half a chili on spice. Both dishes came with white rice in addition to the bread. The portions is nice enough to split/share so you and your guest can try two dishes like we did. The food was very filling and tasty. You don’t get that nasty full feeling fast food gives. I would definitely go again. Our server was a very nice gentleman, he gave suggestions and also let us know if something we were considering would take more than 15 min to cook since certain items for a dish were made fresh. If you ever want to stop in please do. The orange yogurt drink (idk the name) was amazing! And they offer sweets at the end of the meal (think tiny nerds in a dish) which was cute. Please try as much as you can here! I would definitely go back. The place was also nice and clean even in the bathrooms and I liked there was outdoor seating in the back.
Side note: The 2 meals, the yogurt drink + yogurt drink refill, and a coke came out to be about $65. Meal is roughly 20 minimum but I seen the highest on the menu was a lamb...
Read moreI’d not even give this place one star. I came all the way from Albany, NY and wanted to try this place for dinner before going back. We were a party of seven, and according to CDC guidelines we all had our vaccination cards (physical copy). One of us was 15 and didn’t have an ID obviously because him being 15, and usually don’t travel with our passport to the city. All of us had our ID and vaccination cards except for one, and the guy very rudely told us to not waste his time and leave. The place was absolutely empty, and we just wanted a quick bite before leaving the city. Absolutely horrible service and wouldn’t recommend anyone below the age of 18 to visit if you’re planning to sit in. This is directly from the NY state website for vaccination mandate in the city for restaurants. ‘You must check identification of anyone appearing to be 18 years of age or older. This identification must be checked at the same time you check proof of vaccination for entrance to an indoor space. In addition, you may check identification for individuals under 18 years old but are not required to do so.’ The guy was very rude and kept saying to not waste his...
Read moreTikka has become my favorite Indian spot in my neighborhood! They're offering takeout & delivery during COVID. The food is absolutely delicious & is ready fairly quickly. The biggest draw for me was that they offer Impossible meat-alternative options. I've gotten the Impossible masala (pictured) and I've gotten the Impossible korma and both were seriously yummy. Try these over their basmati rice with a side of garlic naan (pictured) & you can't go wrong. The last time my husband & I ordered from here, we had half of each meal leftover, so we had it for lunch the next day which made me feel like my money was going further! Adding Impossible jacks the price up a fair amount, however, I'm grateful to have a meat substitute option if I want it. The chana saag is also unreal. Creamy saag, with wonderfully spiced chickpeas mixed in & a touch of spice that'll leave you sweating. Yum! The times I've taken out from Tikka the people inside have been pleasant & helpful! ...
