$45 for this birthday cake that the strawberries on tops grew mold after two days in the refrigerator at home.
The cake tasted rancid after only two days in the refrigerator at home. Is this Quality Control on their part?
We ordered this a week Before the very special birthday and were obviously given an old cake from the showcase. They refused to write happy birthday with a name for the birthday, and said "we don't do that"
The fruit on top was not given a glaze and was old. We wasted our money. We should have known better, because our experience shopping on 86th street in Bensonhurst is that we are consistently sold low quality things with no customer service.
We went in to talk to the manager and showed him the picture of our purchase, and he became belligerent and defensive. He raised his voice and proceeded to embarrass us, yelling at the innocent cashier in mandarin and waiving his hand at us dismissively. He was extremely rude- refusing to do anything, and even refuse to replace the cake with a fresh one.
We will be filing an official complaint with the Better Businesses Bureau (BBB), and we will contact the business owner directly.
I would not recommend this bakery to anyone, Lest you want to be humiliated and taken advantage of by the horrible manager. And we will certainly never return to this deceitful and horrible place unless the matter...
Read more"I visited this establishment recently and purchased a chocolate croissant. Before making the purchase, I specifically asked the gentleman at the register if the items I was buying contained nuts, as my wife has a severe nut allergy. He assured me that the croissant did not contain any nuts. Unfortunately, after my wife consumed it, she had a serious allergic reaction. This situation could have been easily avoided if the staff had provided accurate information.
This experience was incredibly distressing, and I believe the store needs to take more responsibility when it comes to informing customers about potential allergens. There should be clear signage or labels indicating whether an item contains nuts or other common allergens, ensuring that customers with allergies can make informed decisions. Misinformation like this is not just inconvenient; it’s dangerous.
After the incident, I called to verify whether the chocolate croissant contained nuts, and I was told that it does. I questioned how the staff could have given me incorrect information the day before, and it became clear that proper training on allergens is lacking.
Due to this unfortunate experience and the risk it posed to my wife’s health, I will not be returning. I strongly urge the management to better train their staff and take allergen labeling seriously to prevent such incidents from...
Read moreI came here the first time and the young man at the register gave me a pleasant experience. I was there by myself and the man told me to take a seat and he would bring me my coffee and pastry. However, going back was very disappointing. Two young females tended to my order since it wasn't crowded; I had a baby carriage. I ordered in and not only did they give me a crumpled paper on my tray, they also gave me my pastry and coffee to take to my table with my baby carriage. They even messed up my order when I asked for the chocolate strawberry cheesecake (I even pointed it out on the window) they gave me the regular instead. When I corrected the girl she began arguing with me that I told her I wanted the Cheesecake (this was a back and forth convo) 😑. I then pointed at the display and told her she has the signs mixed up that's why there's all this confusion. She apologized for the mix up. It's fine to mix up an order, we're all human, but why get all defensive and go back and forth with a paying customer. The pastry wasn't even Cheesecake!! It's a chocolate layered cake with strawberries on top! I am so so disappointed. I really hope I don't see these two ladies next time. They ruined...
