I really enjoyed my self at this restaurant. I went here twice while visiting NYC alone, back in Sept 2015. First time I stumbled upon it , it was at lunch and it was very quiet. Professional, knowledgeable, service. Pleasant, cute, warm atmosphere. Very reasonable prices.
Most importantly Pesce Pasta has delicious food. They do fish really well. I had Red Snapper Livorno, which was the special, it comes with pasta or vegetables which i had. It was broccoli -so, so good. I also ordered a green salad which was dressed with really really good tasting dressing and a glass of white wine.which was very good for the price. Second time I went about 830 pm for Sunday dinner- alone again. There was one table left. Just for me. I had the same no non sense waiter , which i prefer. I had a different fish special, cant recall the name. which came with greens this time- done perfectly. Ordered A mixed tomato salad- very good. Their salad dressing is most tasty. And white wine. Again, all very very good. It's a good place for solo diners. Ill be back next time in New York. I love fish done in Italian style and this place does that the best. if you have ever been to Italy, you will feel transported back when you eat here. And the price cant be beat.

Read moreGood portions for reasonable prices. Meat and Fish entrees come with a side of pasta or veggies.
Food: Gnocci - good - plump and soft. It was a very large portion, in a flavorful marinara sauce with some basil leaves. I would have liked it better if it was a meat sauce Chicken Parm - very thin breaded chicken with a nice layer of mozzeralla and marinara on top - chicken crisp, but not dry. Comes with a veg side (was broccoli that day) or linguini pasta with marinara. I would get this next time. Sole - had an artichoke and sun-dried tomato sauce, with good amount of each, with a slice of polenta on the side. It had a nice light flavor and the artichoke was not too overwhelming to the dish. Chicken special - butterflied chicken stuffed with cheese and spinach, baked with a mushroom sauce on top, and a few boiled potato/carrots on the side - it had good flavors, but a bit too cheesy for me personally.
Service: Pretty good. No shortage of staff, and they float around so you can grab anyone. A waiter comes by to give you fresh ground table and Parmesan after you get your dishes. Balsamic, Olive oil already at the tables, and you are served complementary white and whole wheat bread.
Ambiance: dim mood lighting, but still...
Read moreWe were in the mood for old school Italian food and ran into this cute neighborhood gem while walking in the Village. Wonderful cozy and homey atmosphere with classic American Italian music hits playing. The food was outstanding old school American style Italian. We ordered Orecchiette with broccoli de rabe, sausage in garlic and oil sauce along with Eggplant rollatini as entrees. We started with an arugula and radicchio salad which was fantastic. It was crisp and cold and perfectly dressed with a tasty balsamic and oil dressing. The Orecchiette dish was amazing. Everything was done to perfection and the flavors were well balanced. Pasta cooked to a perfect al dente. Broccoli de rabe was crisp and tender. The sausage was delicious. Italian comfort food at its best. Perfect execution. The eggplant rotallini dish consisted of rigatoni pasta with sauteed eggplant in red sauce topped with cubes of fresh mozzarella. Everything was tasty and the sauce was old school grandma style. A flawless dish. Service was attentive and professional. This is a perfect location if you're seeking old school style Italian American cuisine in the Village area. Prices are reasonable for the area as well. It's a hidden gem in...
