WARNING! If you want jerk chicken, DO NOT order from this place. The jerk chicken was dry as a desert with absolutely no flavor/seasoning. It was very very bland and hard texture as if it was cooked 5 days ago. I even tried to mask it with bbq sauce and even that did not work… Im a big foodie and this angered me so much that I think the chef should be fired immediately or even arrested! The mac n cheese tasted like it was from the box. Im actually surprised because I ordered oxtails from this place before and it was good. The jerk chicken on the other hand, I would have taken it back had I not ordered it from UberEats. I wouldnt even give this food to a homeless person. This place should change its name from, Tropical Jerk, to Death Desert. I am horrified

Decided on a closer spot to home that I've been meaning to try. I gave them 3 stars mostly because the food lacked flavor and proper seasoning. I ordered a small stew chicken, rice & peas with cabbage and sweet plantains ($8 and change), plus a side of mac&cheese ($4). Nothing too horrible, nor special. A blander version of the Jamaican food that I'm used. So, everyone's taste buds will be different. I've read the reviews about the rude staff. That wasn't my experience. At least not today. However, this will not be my go to spot.

Very friendly staff, friendly greeting. Great tasting, excellent seasoned Jamaican food! This hidden gem is a don't miss it kinda place. Freshly made food. Generous portions, one plate is enough for 2 people. Good accessibility, but parking can be challenging. I highly, highly recommend, and I would absolutely order again! I placed my order through Too Good To Go to be fair as a disclaimer.

Upon entering there is a lady at the register that seems like she really doesn’t want to be there. I came in probably about an hour after opening. I asked for a breakfast item that I thought they would have enough of because they just opened. She looks at me with a disgust look on her face and says there’s not enough then walks back to the register. She Asks a coworker of hers to see if he can make it work. He came over and looked down to see what he was working with. I just said give me one just to make everyone’s life easier. He asked the cook if there was anymore to satisfy my order and the cook said something which I couldn’t make out and everyone laughed making me feel uncomfortable. I’ve been there a few times before and said that would be my go to spot but after the experience I had the last time I went, I’m not so sure. The food is good though. But that one lady that looks like she doesn’t want to be there needs some customer training. Smile at your customers. Make them feel welcomed. Don’t make it seem like we just come to ruin your day. There is another lady with nice eyes that works at the counter on certain days. She is great...

I work for the city, so me and co workers frequently visit this place for lunch. Honestly it’s a hit and miss. The prices are pretty decent (be aware they do charge a fee if using a card), most of the food is flavorful especially the rice & peas is nice, jerk pork is decent and the jerk chicken could be BETTER it definitely doesn’t give that jerk kick and sometimes both are room temperature. Shrimps are smothered in sauce, making them soggy. Now I’m really writing the review because I came here today to give the curry goat a 2nd try and AGAIN meat is not tender but flavor is definitely there!! Never try the oxtails but if the curry goat is tuff I might not never know Cas baby no ppl work hard for they coins and meat should be more tender. Most of the staff there...

Today, I ordered a large fish whiting meal plus half a jerk chicken on the side. Everything came up to $30. The cashier was very nice and helpful. The fish was ok, but the dude preparing the jerk chicken snaked me on my order. I am a former chef. My family owns ten restaurants in the South. The jerk chicken they gave me was sugary, dry and very stale. The dude only placed the wing portion, the leg and things on the container. He kept back the actual breast and gave me breast bones, with the wings , thighs and legs. I write this to alert other customers about the shady business going on. Don't let them chop up your chicken if you want the breast included. I won't be buying anything more from them. This is another reason why restaurants...
