I have made a new policy to make my words sweet considering how many times I have to eat them. Mmmm... sweet AND salty. I've seen too many awesome live shows here to care about the seating anymore. Plus it leaves room to dance, not sit! And people do dance. I don't know who's doing the sound the past few times I've been this year, but I'm doing a slow clap for you sir. Outstanding. And ultimately, when you're here for the music that's what matters. Well that and my prerequisite doubles served in a pint glass. Most shows I've been to have a $10 door charge but you get that back with the $10 drink ticket. After that, have all the cost and time effective doubles you want. There's food, and I've eaten it in the past, so I remember it being good, but for the sake of journalistic integrity, I'll update when I've mangiare'd there again. There's a lively crowd on Saturdays. Not crowded and there may be some people in formal dinner wear tumbling in. So this makes for the after-party-party spot around Wall Street. They were fun. But that's mostly because of the band, The Jewbadours, purveyors of classic Yacht Rock. Think of Hall & Oats and Michael McDonald and you've got the idea. Such a great night. Drinks, dinner, a show and dancing... that pretty much covers everything one needs for a good time, and here it is all in one spot.

Nice place, nice beer, not cheap of course, look where you at haha, lot´s of space to sit, large bar, live music. Very cool. And now I´ll gift you the best route to end up having a beer here after an awesome day of turism. First Go to the highline, then stop at Chelsea Market, keep going down to Little Island, then cross to Whitney Museum, then take Hudson St and keep going down till you Grove St and see Friend´s Building, that´s a really cool route. After, go to ghostbusters headquarters, which is very close by, then you do One World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial. Then do the Charging Bull and finish your route at Stone St. with a beautiful cold beer at Ulysees Bar. Top notch route ;) You´re welcome.

Had an absolutely horrible experience at Ulysses a couple of weeks ago. I came with a group of friends on a Friday evening to celebrate a birthday. We were able to snatch a table in the back in the bar. I opened up a tab and told everyone that they can put their orders on my tab rather than everyone each opening up their own tabs. The bar was crowded and I was trying to make things simple.

When we first got there there was a female bartender in the back that took our food order and first rounds of drinks. She was great. After we received our food the bartender in the back switched over to an older gentleman. I hate to use bad language but this guy was a total *sshole. I have never been treated with such disrespect at an establishment where I am paying customer at before:

I went up to the bar to order a drink and to grab two waters for my friends sitting at the table right next to the bar. While I was waiting for the drink and two waters one of my friends sitting down at the table asked me if I can grab an additional water. When the bartender came back with the drinks I asked him for another water and in an extremely rude manner he shook his head and yelled no at me. I've never been denied water at a restaurant or bar where I'm paying for food and drinks. I then told him I had a tab open and gave him my name. It seemed like he was having trouble with the POS system and couldn't find my tab. He asked me for a card and I told him that you guys have my card and said that I gave it to the waitress earlier. This is my mistake for calling the earlier bartender a waitress. But it was an honest mistake because she served us food and the male bartender was being rude and stressing me out. He then shouted at me "I'M NOT A WAITRESS". I replied apologizing and corrected myself to bartender. Finally he finds my card and shows it to me. I tell him that it is my card. He then shouts at me again "I'M NOT A WAITRESS". I told him that I already apologized to him earlier and corrected myself. Overall the bartender was a huge bully and really disrespectful.

After the poor treatment that the bartender gave me, my friends and I decided to leave Ulysses. No establishment that treats their customers with such disrespect deserves my hard earned money. I closed out the tab. At the time I didn't realize that the bartender put on two shots on the tab that we did not order. Since there was 6 of us putting all different items on my one card and we agreed as a group that we would sort the bill out between us the next day, the two shots didn't stick out to me. I found out the following day when sorting out the bill that no one in my group ordered the shots. So the bar STOLE money from me.

I gave Ulysses a chance to make this right. I tried calling them but every time I called no one picked up. I then contacted them through their website. I got an automated message that they received my inquiry and that they would be bringing it to upper management. This was over a week ago. They have not reached out to me to fix the crime they...

This place has outdoor seating in between two rows of buildings, so the seating's not on the main street. It's a nice atmosphere, and there are plenty of umbrellas for shade. Inside is your standard Irish pub style decor.

The food options were decent, but not a whole lot of gluten-free choices. I got nachos with chili, and they were some of the best bar nachos I have ever had. The chips are the weakest link; they are not ones that anyone would enjoy eating on their own. It's a good thing they smothered it with all the toppings. Most places, the cheese and other stuff only makes it on the top layer, but here every layer got plenty of fixins. The chili is an add-on for $1, and it makes them complete. The black bean dip was intriguing, while the salsa and guacamole were just sort of there. My fiance's corned beef tasted good, but was unevenly cooked and dry.

This was rated so low because it was without a doubt the worst service we recieved on our trip. Our waitress took over 10 minutes after giving us menus to come back and check on us, and we had to wait excessively at the end to wrap up. On top of that, she never checked on our meal, and any time she did speak to us, it was clear she hated her job and customers.

Overall, if you work in the area this is probably not a good lunch spot, unless you don't have a time frame you need...
