These 5 star reviews have to be friends and family… For a new restaurant, it needs a lot of work. First of all, very similar vibes to Kausa - same owners maybe (art and layout is exactly the same, and maybe the waitress from Kausa got promoted to manager?)? Although Kausa is way better in my opinion from the service to the food. We got seated and ordered a half pitcher of the morada. The waiter looked at us and goes “2 half pitchers.” We had to clarify 3 times that we wanted 1 half pitcher with 2 glasses. I then proceeded to tell him that we wanted the palta rellena to start, and that I was having the camarón tumi and my friend was having the arroz con pollo. He walks away and then comes back asking what were the dishes again, and if we ordered pulpo? First of all, if you are not used to the menu or taking orders, please write our order down. Once again, I clarified what we were having and he did not write it down either. I then noticed him asking for the manager for help. As time passed, I thought maybe he forgot to put in our appetizer. But shortly thereafter our entrees came out at the same time as our appetizer. The palta rellena is not at all what i expected, but it was good… it was like a cold chicken salad on top of half an avocado, on top of mashed potatoes - overall a cold dish in general. My shrimp dish was actually not bad, but my friend did not enjoy her chicken and rice at all. Keep in mind, this restaurant has no meat on the menu at all. If i had known this new restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen was a sister of Kausa’s, we would have never came here and would have just went to Kausa. Will we come back? No.

I attended the “grand” opening night of this establishment. I was thoroughly unimpressed. It was freezing as they kept refusing to close the door even when many patrons complained. They were severely understaffed. On their grand opening night that should not be the case. The music was so loud we could barely order. It took us 40 minutes to get our drinks and even longer after for food. We witnessed a dog being passed around by staff and patrons. Patrons had to even clear their own plates when that is not what you expect at an upscale place. The service was terrible. Our waiter was clearly hired for his looks and not his serving ability as he forgot multiple pieces of our order. They put more thought into the entertainment than the food. We also witnessed staff bringing in giant pots through the restaurant when that should be done out of guests eyesight. The food wasn’t anything special and the ceviche that was 24 bucks was smaller than an 18 dish that I had. My boyfriend had to go to the kitchen and ask for sauce as it took 20 minutes of waiting before he went to get it himself. First impressions are everything and this place left a poor one on me and my party. The woman who I presume owns the establishment with her partner only cares about filming the patrons dancing. We will not be back

As per usually whenever we score Broadway tickets, we head to the city early find parking and randomly pick a restaurant for a pre-show meal and cocktails. In June we happened to walk into Tumi. The restaurant appeared to be newly opened and possibly still working out some of the kinks. With a clean modern design it has a very relax causal feel with simple decor. We started with some HH passion fruit margaritas and chips & guac. For an entrée I decided on Arroz con Pollo (it was presented differently from what I’m accustomed to) and bestie went with Pulpo A La Parrilla (grilled octopus). Both dishes were well seasoned and nicely prepared. I was impressed by the octopus, the flavor was great but the texture was perfect. I wanted to order it but was nervous that it may be overcooked and rubbery and it was not. Overall a good random dining experience. Our server was Andres, he was lovely and offered suggestions when asked. You can tell staff was still trying to find their flow which highlighted some of the inconsistency in communication with each other. Just A Note: -Happy Hour everyday from 3-7pm -Drag Brunch 2-4pm on Saturday & Sunday

I was hoping for a fantastic drag brunch based on other reviews, but my experience here was unfortunately very disappointing. I called to make reservations for a group brunch for June 28th, and specifically checked to make sure there would be bottomless brunch and a drag show as advertised, as we wanted to celebrate pride.

It became immediately clear that the restaurant was unprepared for bottomless brunch. Our waiter had to check with staff to see if they were even able to offer bottomless, and then ran out of mimosa glasses after one round of drinks. The drinks were also mostly orange juice, with very little champagne.

A little over an hour into our meal, we followed up with the manager to inquire about when the show would be starting. It was only then —after already ordering food and spending money on watered down drinks — that they told us there would be no performance (contrary to the website, Instagram, and posters that all advertised the drag show). This was super disappointing, as we were only there for the show, and someone should have informed us of the change of plans before we sat down and ordered food and drinks. It felt like a bait and switch.

Even more disappointing was that we were lied to and told that the queen couldn’t come because she got in an accident, but we saw on social media that they were in fact performing elsewhere that day. Instead of apologizing and comping any part our meal, the manager shrugged us off, (“well the food was good, right?”) and sent us another round of weak,...
